The summer is flying by as July is over halfway done. Group 4 contains the biggest public schools in New Jersey and has guards who should make an impact on the hardwood this winter, especially in the senior class. Here are the 2025 Group 4 shooting guard prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1412107' first='Jaycen' last='Santucci'], 6'4 Central Regional

Santucci has been the go-to guy for the Golden Eagles over the last two two seasons and should continue to do so in 2024-25. The 6'4 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong above the rim and make shots through contact in the paint. Santucci uses his see over his defender and can also score in the mid-range. He works hard for rebounds on both ends of the floor and jumps passing lanes on the defensive end. Santucci can put up points in bunches and should continue to do so throughout his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421322' first='Matt' last='Scerbo'], 6'2 Phillipsburg

Scerbo is not only a star on the hardwood as he also stars on the gridiron. The 6'2 guard has a quick first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish nicely around the rim. Scerbo sets his feet before he shoots and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and slides his feet on the defensive end. Scerbo is a gamer who does whatever it takes to help his team win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='1456845' first='Judd' last='Holt'], 6'2 Cherokee

Holt is one of the top shooters in South Jersey and should put it on display this winter. The 6'2 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Holt moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He has an underrated handle and gets deflections on the defensive end. Holt is a sharpshooting guard prospect whose ability to torch the nets from distance will help his stock in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421324' first='Talan' last='Bacote'], 6'2 Bloomfield

Bacote has seen his stock rise over the past couple of months and it could continue to go up if he keeps up his play. The 6'2 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get into the lane off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. Bacote is more than just a slasher as he wastes little motion in his release and rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt. He is an underrated passer and makes plays on the defensive end. Bacote's ability to run the offense is something that will help his development over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1413217' first='Nasir' last='Hudson'], 6'1 Hackensack

Hudson has the ability to play on and off the ball, which makes him an intriguing prospect to track in the class. The 6'1 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get to the rim off the bounce and can finish through contact around the rim. Hudson is able to get to his spot on the floor and shoots the ball with confidence on the perimeter. He can find his open teammates in the halfcourt and is a tough on-ball defender. Hudson is a gritty guard prospect whose ability to score in the paint will help his game over the course of the summer and fall.
