Xavier has been one of the high major programs most closely monitoring Lawson for over a year now and Lawson has taken his game to a new level in that time. Despite a loss to Lawrence North, Lawson was getting after it on both ends of the court. Arguably the best overall athlete in Ohio's 2025 class on the hardwood, Lawson moves at a different speed and burst from almost everybody else. An improvement in perimeter shooting has been key for Lawson as he knocked down some tough shots off the dribble. Watching two of the top point guards going at it in Lawson and Azavier Robinson going against each other was one of the more fun games I've watched this spring and summer. One of the last steps for Lawson to take will be to cut down on turnovers in the half-court, Robinson forced a couple of turnovers on Lawson with his tough on-ball defense.

Robinson is a flat-out dog on the court, making a huge impact on both ends of the court. Forcing a ton of turnovers with his relentless ball pressure and active hands, Robinson is one of the top perimeter defenders in the Midwest. Combine that with his on-ball pace and ability to not get sped up, you have a nationally ranked prospect with high major offers. I've only gotten the chance to see Robinson a few times and walked away impressed each time with not only his production but his competitiveness on the court. If Lawrence North is going to make a deep playoff run during his senior season, they'll need Robinson to be playing at his best

Newport got a big win over Lawrence North in their lone game of the day and Rondon impressed with his new team. Making the move from Cooper to Newport, Rondon is now a secondary ball handler but his passing ability is still incredibly useful for his team. Rondon made some sweet no-look passes to cutters and helped set up his bigs with alley oops and dump off passes. While his passing is the main way he impacts the game on this stacked roster, Rondon also can knock down perimeter shots as well. Never hurts to combine Division I talent with players who have an elite feel for the game like Rondon.

St Xavier and Winton Woods played a tight game that went all the way to sudden death overtime after Waleskowski made three free throws with two seconds left to tie the game. All day Waleskowski was knocking down perimeter shots off the catch, being efficient when he was left alone. A key closeout attack also led to a finish at the rim for Waleskowski who was by far the most reliable offensive piece the Bombers had this afternoon. One of the top shooters in southwest Ohio, Waleskowski will hope to attract scholarship interest this summer.
