With June being the month for high school basketball. We take a look at seven incoming freshmen, expected to have a big impacts on their programs this season.
Everyone is raving about the arrival of Mckinney. The 6’6 wing has all the tools to be one of the better incoming freshmen in recently memory. He adds transition scoring while fitting perfectly in the Gaels up tempo system. Look for the first sign of his impact to take place next weekend during Section 7.
Highlights
McMorran will be one of the more entertaining impact players. The now 6’2 PG is one of the state’s deadliest snipers. The lefty should make an appearance at Section 7 for a Desert Pines team that has put together a sneaky strong incoming freshman class.
The jitterbug PG will be one of the most entertaining players in the state. Mcghee is a tough shot maker with blow by ability. Playing for one of the powerhouse programs in the state, expect the young PG to have his first impact at Section 7.

Looking forward to checking Legacy out during Section 7, and a large part is due to their incoming freshmen. Miles has been productive several times when I saw him during his middle school career, looking to evaluate how the lefties floor game and defense impact the Longhorns.
Townsend is sure to be a fan favorite during his high school career. One of the toughest players pound for pound, the PG seems to fit seamlessly in the Longhorns system. Expect the scrappy PG to have a cerebral impact for the Longhorns on both sides of the ball.
Look for Damann to be a Culture Warrior for the Knights. Good positional size should allow him an opportunity to have an impact early.

Harris is one of the more highly anticipated 2028’s. He’s the next in the line up of a dynamic DP backcourt, looking for a 3 peat. He brings an impact combination of on the ball PG skills, with dynamic playmaking ability.
