Deshaun Harris showed out at the Prep Hoops Bash in the Desert earlier this month. He is a smooth and crafty guard who uses his elusiveness to weave around defenders, and I liked how he kept his eyes up, which allowed him to find his forwards and shooters to rack up assists. In addition to his facilitating skills, he was draining threes and had some nice finishes at the cup. Overall, he impressed, and I think he has a big summer ahead of him.

Dashaun Harris Dashaun Harris 5'10" | PG Democracy Prep | 2028 State NV was a major contributor for the Democracy Prep Blue Knights this winter. He was their second-leading scorer with 14.5 PPG and was vital to them winning some close games, including their NIAA 5A quarterfinal against Desert Pines, when he had the game-winning deflection and free throws. He is very tough for any opponent to stay in front of, as he’s incredibly twitchy and has the jets to burn even more stout defenders. Harris is also quite the force on defense, using his quickness to cause turnovers on a very frequent basis. Overall, he played great, and it’ll be exciting to see what he does with Vegas Elite in the coming months.

Dashaun Harris Dashaun Harris 5'10" | PG Democracy Prep | 2028 State NV scored from a few different spots on the floor against Liberty. He got to the line and converted four free throws, hit a jumper and a three, and added another bucket inside. One of his best moments came on a perfectly placed throw ahead pass in transition. He also competed defensively until the final whistle.

As mentioned above, he then showed ice in his veins and hit the game winners. It was a clutch performance from the sophomore, who already looks comfortable delivering in pressure-filled moments.

He waited for the right moment to go, and made some difficult finishes from there in traffic. Harris’ speed also helped him create turnovers on the defensive end in the second half.

He was getting downhill with ease and often had defenders on their heels. I also noticed him getting after it in on defense and he applied consistent ball pressure. Harris dropped a team high of 15 points in their win over Southwind in the Spalding Division semifinals. And he also put up 6 points,4 assists and 2 rebounds against JSerrra in the finals.

Dashaun Harris Dashaun Harris 5'10" | PG Democracy Prep | 2028 State NV played quite well last weekend. He utilizes his feel for the games and his athleticism to set up his drives on offense. He can usually burn his defenders in just a few steps and he knows how to locate the rim once it’s time to get his shot off. Harris also buried some shots from perimeter and applied good ball pressure on defense.
