Anthony Fortuna | Prep Hoops Scout
Gianni Mcghee was on Coronado’s squad this spring and summer. However he has made the decision to transfer to The Academy of Central Florida. The crafty and shifty PG is sure to turn some heads there. As he really can dish out some nice assists and can get to his pull up jumper in the blink of an eye.

Ranked #9 is Gianni McGhee. He has to be one of the quickest guards in this 2028 class. When you watch him play, you notice that he has some incredible stop and go ability. Which usually helps create the separation he needs to get his shot up. On defense, McGhee is a pest and stays active with his hands at all times.
McGhee also recently received an offer from Boise St.

If you don’t know McGhee yet, add him to your radar. On offense he can create his own shots, or he can drive and dish. It is truly pick your poison with him. Defensively, he uses his quickness and energy to stifle opposing ball handlers. All in all, the freshman has a complete game, he’ll just need to get a bit stronger as he goes against older and bigger players.

Gianni McGhee is a shifty guard that will be joining Coronado High School this year. He plays the point position like a true floor general and has a solid shot. Defenders often have to be cautious when guarding him because of his elite handles and acceleration. If you take away his scoring options, he often finds an open guy cutting back door or a shooter on the wing.

The jitterbug PG will be one of the most entertaining players in the state. Mcghee is a tough shot maker with blow by ability. Playing for one of the powerhouse programs in the state, expect the young PG to have his first impact at Section 7.

Saw Mcghee last month in Phoenix for the Final Four runs, and he showed why he is one of the most dynamic players in his class. The Jitterbug PG is quick as a hiccup, with the ability to create magic with the ball in his hands.

I was thoroughly impressed with Mcghee’s wiggle. The PG was easily able to seperate from defenders to create shots for himself. His quickness and tight handle give him a chance to be one of the highest ranked PG’s in his class when the new rankings are released.

Mcghee has one of the best handle of any player in his class. It was fun watching him in a tryout for a team he’s a lock to make. The PG worked on his breakdown and 1 v 1 ability in the tryout, displaying High School ready wiggle and shot making.
