Expert Analysis

Taytum Cios-Webb claims the #15 spot after being a force on both ends of the court for the Liberty Patriots this season. On defense, he leveraged his energy, quickness, and focus to lock down opponents. He was also one of the better rebounding guards in 5A and regularly snagged boards on offense. Beyond his scrappy play, he has some burst and will likely be getting downhill more frequently in the future.

Taytum Cios-Webb impacted the game on both ends in Liberty’s win over Democracy Prep. He was all over the glass, turning rebounds into second-chance points. And drilled a key three to close the third quarter. On defense, his motor stood out. I noticed him cutting off driving lanes and staying active with hands.

made a variety of contributions for the Patriots down in Arizona. He attacked the rack when there were open driving lanes and he hit some jumpers as well. In addition to his scoring, Webb hustled to gather rebounds and he was locked in on defense. All in all, it was a solid weekend for him.

provided some steady offense for the Patriots on Wednesday night. He was using his speed and deceptive ball-handling to get by his defenders. I also saw Webb staying active on the defensive end. He consistently pressured the Centennial guards, and helped keep them out of their rhythm most of the game.

plays with an edge to him and is often out-hustling his opponents on both ends of the court. He is a pretty decent ball handler, and plays with his eyes up. Which enables him to find his teammates that are open in the paint or on the perimeter. Webb also has some quickness, and can burn his guy when he really hits it.

Taytum has shown a lot of improvement these last couple of years. He plays with a lot of speed and I think that he’s adjusted to the physicality of high school basketball. This summer, he displayed his ability to attack the basket and draws fouls as well. The other jumps in his game that I have noticed are his 3-point shooting and defense. If he can continue to play solid defense at the Varsity level, he may be one of the guys that moves up the ranks.

Keep an eye out for Webb as a potential stockriser. He came to the Venom Rankings Run, and played well, showing a variety of offensive skills. Watch for him to take a more leadership role this Grassroots season, as the talented Floor General has some natural PG instincts.
