*Disclaimer* Rankings at this age are just a starting point, as we have a lot of evaluating to do over the next few years, still have tons of players to discover and players will grow and develop quite a bit over that time. Please note that the rankings will look much different over the next few years.
#5
Makel Minor
Makel
Minor
6'0" | PG
James Monroe | 2027
State
VA
| 6’0” PG | James Monroe
Minor wasted no time making a name for himself, scoring 50 points in one of his first high school games and he was a catalyst leading James Monroe to a deep playoff run as the go-to guy as a freshman. He’s a very talented guard who can get where he wants to off the bounce, he can make tough shots from deep and in the midrange, he’s a good finisher at the rim and he can make plays for others too.
#6
Callen Morrison
Callen
Morrison
5'8" | PG
Woodside | 2027
State
VA
| 5’8” PG | Woodside
While Morrison isn’t the biggest guy on the court, he’s a super dynamic guard who can impact the game on both ends and has shown the ability to fill it up in bunches when he gets it going. He’s a quick and shifty guard who can get in the paint and create space to get his shot off, he’s a knock down shooter from deep and he’s a pest of an on ball defender too.
#7 Brian Mitchell Jr. Brian Mitchell Jr. 6'3" | SG Varina | 2027 State VA | 6’3” SG | Varina
Mitchell was part of an LCA team that made a run to the state championship as an eighth grader before transferring to Varina for his freshman season where he was a starter for their team that made a run to the state tournament. At 6’3” he already has a great frame that allows him to be physical defensively and in the paint, he is a knock down shooter from deep with good range and he has good instincts on both ends of the floor.
#8
Jordyn Houston
Jordyn
Houston
6'8" | PF
Woodside | 2027
State
VA
| 6’7” PF | Woodside
Houston was a big part of Woodside’s run to their second straight state championship, and was one of the most impactful freshman who doesn’t look like a freshman with his size and mature game. He’s strong in the paint and attacks the glass on both ends of the floor, he knows how to move off the ball with relocations and dives to the basket and he is a very good finisher with both hands around the rim.
#13
Dean Williams
Dean
Williams
6'4" | SG
Catholic | 2027
State
VA
| 6’4” SG | Landstown
Williams was a standout at Norfolk Academy who looks like he’s transferring to Landstown after playing with them during the live period, and he’s a very intriguing prospect with his size and skill set at his age. At 6’4” he has long arms and is likely still growing, he’s a three level scorer who can make tough shots and he is already a good athlete who should become more explosive with time.
#15 Joao Prado Joao Prado 6'5" | SF Massanutten | 2027 State VA | 6’5” SF | Massanutten
Prado is a native of Portugal who came over to Massanutten last year, and while he didn’t play much on the post grad team in the Elite Prep League he has shown huge upside and will only get better playing against older competition. At 6’5” he’s a phenomenal athlete who plays above the rim with authority, he has a good base skillset that should polish with time and he has huge upside defensively too.
#16 Landon Lee Landon Lee 6'8" | PF Virginia | 2027 State VA | 6’8” PF | Virginia High
Lee was a standout as a freshman at Virginia High, where he showed he’s one of the top prospects in SWVA and has had a good summer with Team Loaded VA on the 3SSB Circuit. Already standing 6’8” and likely still growing, Lee is a good athlete who can play above the rim and rebound, he can step out and knock down shots from deep and his versatility is impressive for a player of his age.
#18
Keaton Gregory
Keaton
Gregory
6'9" | C
Trinity Episcopal | 2027
State
VA
| 6’9” C | Trinity Episcopal
Gregory was a starter for TES this season and had a very good season while showing a lot of upside moving forward. Standing a legit 6’9” and possibly still growing, Gregory has great touch around the rim with both hands, he showed his ability to step out and make shots and deliver passes on the perimeter, he plays hard on the defensive end and is already mobile and should get more athletic with time.
#21
Brady Burnette
Brady
Burnette
6'2" | SG
St. Chris | 2027
State
VA
| 6’3” SG | St. Chris
Burnette is a player we’ve been watching for a few years now, and he continues to get better every time we watch him play. He’s grown quite a bit over the past few years and has become more athletic throughout that time, he’s a very good shooter from deep with good range and a quick release and he has improved a lot as a ball handler and an on ball defender too.
#22
Jahmai Drayton
Jahmai
Drayton
6'11" | PF
Fairfax Christian School | 2027
State
VA
| 6’11” C | Fairfax Christian
Drayton joined Fairfax Christian this summer and had a good showing in Session 1 of DMV Live, and while he’s still a project he has a ton of upside moving forward. He’s already pushing 7’0” with long arms and may still be growing, he’s mobile and gets up and down the floor well, he alters shots and he shows good touch around the rim.
