June serves as a transition period in the grassroots basketball calendar between the spring and the summer. The annual scholastic period brings high school teams back together before another big month of travel ball in July. Prep Hoops Indiana will continue to provide coverage of it all, but before we get too deep into June we wanted to highlight some of the standouts from the last couple of months a bit more. This week we will hand out some superlatives from the spring beginning here with guards in the Class of 2027 that will continue to make their names known into the summer months.

Dixon burst onto the scene early in the spring earning All-Tournament honors at the Prep Hoops Chi-Town Tip Off. The smaller, dynamic guard from South Bend Adams High School was pouring it in from all over the floor that weekend and continued to put together a strong spring for [program_tooltip program_id='2076210' first='5Star' last='Basketball'] 2027. He is a really good shooter off of the dribble that does a good job of creating separation for his jump shots. Then, when he attacks the rim, he is a creative finisher at the end of his drives. There is a bright future ahead for Dixon in the South Bend area.

We certainly were aware of Fuller coming out of the high school season where he averaged 8.2 points and 3.1 assists per game as a freshman for Liberty Christian. The super quick, playmaking point guard has continued his strong play into the spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] on the EYBL circuit. Fuller is excellent playing off of ballscreens showcasing good pace and overall processing for his age. He is a very good and willing passer to go with what he can do as a shot-creator for himself especially at the end of his drives or in the mid-range. There is a lot to like about his game and has already started to prove it at a high level.

The list of freshmen who stepped into varsity roles from day one is a pretty small one. Then, when you consider carving out a role for a Class 4A Sectional champion, it gets even more impressive. That is what Goheen did as a freshman providing backcourt depth for Fort Wayne North Side High School. Goheen then blossomed from that valuable experience this spring playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] Red. He has proven himself now as one of the perimeter guards in Fort Wayne's Class of 2027.

An under-the-radar prospect from down in southern Indiana, Lang has started to burst onto the scene a bit with [program_tooltip program_id='2076166' first='Grand' last='Park Premier'] this spring. The 6'0" guard can play both on or off of the ball and is a part of a really talented backcourt with GPP 2027. As a freshman, Lang was one of the top scorers in the state for the Class of 2027 averaging 15.0 points per game at Trinity Lutheran to go along with 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists. Most impressively, Lang shot 53-143 (37.1%) from three-point range. That shooting ability will continue to be a big part of his game over the next few years.

This prospect out of Booneville High School first jumped out at the Pocket City Fall League before flying a bit under-the-radar during the season at his rural school in southwestern Indiana. However, the talented three-sport athlete had an excellent season on the hardwood earning Second Team All-PAC honors as a freshman. McKain has all of the physical and athletic tools you could possibly as for at his age and has shown that he belongs against some of the best in the state and beyond while playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] this spring.

One of the best shooters in Indiana's Class of 2027, Sigmund has proved himself between an excellent freshman season for Decatur Central and continued strong play through the spring months. He averaged 6.3 points per game for the Hawks while shooting an impressive 42-107 (39.3%) from three-point range. That high-level catch-and-shoot ability makes him a very intriguing prospect to track for years to come. Look for him to take over more of a go-to scoring role this month.

Thomas has been a consistent standout on the Prep Hoops Circuit throughout the spring earning All-Tournament honors on multiple weekends. He most recently helped lead [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] 2027 to the Prep Hoops Indiana State Tournament title while putting up big scoring numbers once again. The 5'11" lead guard is truly dynamic with the ball in his hands showcasing the ability to break his man down consistently, create separation, and score from seemingly any spot on the floor. Thomas is definitely one to remember when looking at Indiana's Class of 2027 backcourt prospects.
