The 2024 South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association Live Team Camp took place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in North Augusta, South Carolina at the Riverview Park Activities Center. Over 120 High School programs from the Palmetto State were in attendance at some point throughout the weekend, so this was one of the most important stops of the Prep Hoops SC Calendar. Check out these five prospects from the Upper State in the 2025 Class who stood out to me this weekend:
Roman Cooley Roman Cooley 6'4" | SF Greenville | 2025 State SC is the first name up on my Upper State 2025s list. He had a massive two-way performance for the Red Raiders in their impressive win over 4A Contender Wilson. Cooley took turns guarding some of the most talented players in the state and held his own on the perimeter and close to the rim. One of his “flash plays” that showed his abilities came in the first half, where he got beat with a crossover off the dribble, recovered, and leaped for a remarkable block on the layup attempt. Roman also had some good moments on the offensive end, putting up 15 Points and 5 Assists. He was at his best scoring the ball in the paint, but did show his range with a made three.

Brooks is one of two Greenwood Eagles who stood out to me this weekend in North Augusta. He is a Point Guard with a balanced game, capable of running an offense with passing, shooting, and finishing. Although he had some shooting struggles in the first half of a matchup with James Island, Jeremiah bounced back well converting on his first 4 attempts from behind the arc in the second half. He went for 16 Points and 5 Assists in the game, displaying his handle, vision, deep range, and pull-up abilities. Brooks also has blow-by speed with the ball in his hands, but could improve his strength in finishing around the rim to help take his scoring game to a new level.
Highlights
Terrell is the other talented Eagle on this list and he holds down the paint on both ends of the floor. CJ is not a high-flying big man, but he has good instincts with his rim protection and good fundamentals with his scoring around the basket. He also had a couple of good moments showing his skill on the offensive end, knocking down a three and getting to the rim off the dribble. Terrell is a confident and capable shooter from 15 feet and out. He will fill up the stat sheet with Points, Rebounds, and Blocks, doing just that in the loss to James Island going for 16, 6, and 4.

Owen had a nice game for Clover in their contest with Lower Richland on Friday. He has a strong frame with good size and does a little bit of everything inside and out. Although his calling card is shooting, I noticed just how hard he was working on the glass on both ends. That is an area where his size and physicality boosted his game, both in grabbing the rebound and in what he did after it. He had some strong finishes going back up with an offensive rebound and earned a couple of trips to the free-throw line when he didn’t. Galeota finished with 11 Points and 10 Rebounds in the win.
Highlights
Tyrek Wright Tyrek Wright 5'11" | PG McBee | 2025 State SC is a nice prospect from 1A McBee and someone who I was impressed by at the SCBCA Live Team Camp. He played an important role in their second-half turnaround in their win over Bamberg-Erhardt, winning the half 33-7 and sending out a bit of a statement to the rest of the class. Tyrek is an exceptional rebounder for a guard, hauling in 7 Rebounds for the Panthers on Friday. He also has a tight handle, feel for passing, good foot speed, and can finish with either hand in traffic. Wright likes to get out in transition and whether it’s from his ability to rebound and push or force turnovers, he has the ball in his hands there often.
