[player_tooltip player_id='3589087' first='Jeovonnie' last='McGinnis'] headlines my list of the best 15U guards from the Prep Hoops Southeast Spotlight. I was impressed with what this lefty showed in a matchup with another shoe-circuit squad on Saturday, going for 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. McGinnis got going early with a pair of right-corner threes, then used that to attack closeouts and get into the paint. Jeovonnie was NME's most efficient offensive player and should be one to track out of the Peach State's 2029 Class.

Javeon might have been one of the smaller guards in the gym this weekend, but he was highly effective whenever he was on the floor. Williams stood out with his ability to dictate pace, run the pick-and-roll offense, and simply make winning plays. Javeon had at least five offensive rebounds in the two games I watched of FOP Orange, which should only underline how scrappy and determined he is. Williams also has a great feel for dumping it off to his bigs and finding shooters from the paint.

Next up on the list of my top 15U guards is Giles Brown. I caught up with Brown and Handles X Buckets in the first game of the weekend - a comfortable 19-point win. Giles was excellent in that game, particularly in the first half, as he had success getting to the rim in transition and in the half-court. He has some solid size for his age, and that size helps him play the game he wants to play. However, it's not all brute force with Giles, he has good feet to play off two and use spin moves in the lane.

Matthews is another player in the 15U division who caught my eye with his effectiveness in transition. A product of Florida's Milton High School, Carter is already making his mark with M1 Athletics this spring. Despite not having a major size or athleticism advantage, he is persistent in getting into the paint and finishing around bodies. Also, although he loves getting out on the break, Matthews showed some good signs in the half-court offense too, with a confident stroke on the outside and some floaters off the dribble.

Capping off my list of top 15U guards from the Prep Hoops Southeast Spotlight is [player_tooltip player_id='2617815' first='Jaylen' last='Beaubrun']. If you were just watching the event, you wouldn't have been able to tell Jaylen was playing up as a 2030. He commanded the FOP Blue offense while running the point, boasting a strong presence to get shots for himself and others. Beaubrun is a solid outside shooter, but he can also keep defenses off balance by getting into the paint. Look out for this Union Grove Middle School product.
