June Jam 2030 Top Performers

Over the weekend, a talented crop of performers from the class of 2030 showed up and balled out in the small town of Noblesville, Indiana. These kids made all the necessary plays needed for their squads to be successful.    Elijah played like a man among boys on the basketball court over the weekend. He is an excellent scorer who easily makes shots in the painted area. Has great hands and tended to catch everything thrown his way. Very good at grabbing rebounds on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Runs the floor well and never seems to get tired. Can finish at the basket in transition situations. Excellent free throw shooter who basically iced the game against IBA Prep in it's final moments. Elijah has a very bright future ahead of him!! He already towers above most kids his age and is very fundamentally sound. The scary thing is... he's not done growing as a person or player.     Harrison is a high energy player who has the ability to create for himself or teammates. He is a good shooter from the floor, often making floaters, mid-range jumpers and three point shots if given the opportunity. Excellent ball handler who uses the dribble to attack the basket, often scoring through contact and converting three point plays. Great passer who was clearly the leader on the floor both verbally and emotionally. Harrison plays the game with strong emotions, but nothing that jeopardizes the team. Seems like the type of player all coaches would love to have: a kid who just refuses to lose. I am really looking forward to following his progression as he grows as a basketball player.     Coley is an excellent shooter for his age. Really good three point shooter who converted a four point play over the weekend! Has great ball handling skills that he often used to get around defenders and attack the basket. He is capable of playing the point guard position as shown by his passing abilities. He plays with a lot of fire and emotion which is a good thing as long as it doesn't hurt the team. A very competitive guard who helps his team win at all cost. Coley is a combo guard who seems to be stronger as a scorer rather than a facilitator. I truly believe this young guy will excel at any level he plays because he has the heart and skills to succeed.     Drew is a steady combo guard who is really good in one on one situations. He looks to get teammates involved on offense with excellent passing and verbal communication. Good mid-range shooter who can also create off the dribble and get to the rim when he has to. Drew has the lateral quickness to be a great defender. He stays attached to opposing guards, while not giving up any air space. Has a great ability of playing passing lanes and forcing turnovers. What I saw is a very knowledgeable player who knows where he needs to be and how he must attack on both offense and defense. As Drew continues to grow and improve his skills, I believe he has what it takes to be a really good two way player in the future.     Caden has the skill to shoot mid range shots and take smaller defenders in the post. He showed the ability to run the floor and finish on the break. A very tenacious defender who can grab rebounds at a high level. During their game versus IBA Prep, I witnessed this young man be unstoppable on the glass! His rebounding skills lead to a lot of easy baskets for his teammates. Caden was excellent at finishing around the basket and scoring through contact. He is a really good defender who had a ton of shot blocks and steals over the weekend. Sheer hustle is a strength I recognized watching him play. Attacking the glass, grabbing rebounds and playing tough defense are great traits to have in a player's basketball growth.     Kase is a really good shooter who has the capability of making long or mid-range shots. In the game versus All-In 2030, he knocked down a couple of long range three pointers. He showed the ability to create his own shots off the dribble and attack the basket for easy layups. A very skilled player on the offensive side of the ball, constantly moving around and searching for open looks at rim. He showed all the characteristics of a solid defensive player who often applied on ball-pressure to opposing guards. Forced numerous turnovers that lead to positive plays for himself or teammates. Kase is a great young player who will definitely improve his skills with continued growth and practice.
