With coaches across the country in the building, they’ll have a chance to show whether or not they are able to play at the next level. Now that we’re at the end of June, those who have performed well are hoping to continue that success on one the biggest stages they’ll have during their high school career. Here’s some Northeast GA names to know as games tip-off over the weekend.
DJ has played well so far at Team Camps, including UGA’s Team Camp where he led his team in scoring on Day 2. He’s a combo guard that pushes the ball well in transition and he’s able to control the pace of play in the half court game. His ability to knock down three’s opens up scoring lanes and allows him to attack when the opportunity is there. He utilizes the mid-range well and he can finish at the rim. He has a strong IQ, passes the ball well, an allows the game to come to him. On defense, Devin does well pressuring the ball and he creates turnovers with his length in the passing lanes. He’s now about 6’2″ and looks even more like a college prospect. This weekend could be a big step for him in the recruiting world.
Jerrin has already come out the gates running at the GBCA Team Camp Session I. In his first game of the weekend, he led his team in scoring. He also had a great run at both UGA’s and Kennesaw State’s Team Camps a couple of weeks ago. Jerrin is a lefty that can put the ball on the floor, create for himself, and create for others. He’s lengthy and can get out and run in transition and he’s also 3-level scorer that allows the game to come to him. He makes good decisions with the ball and looks to get his teammates the ball in open spots and early in the possession. He impacts the game in every way. He scores, rebounds, gets assists, blocks shots, gets steals, wins 50-50 balls, he’s just a Swiss Army knife type of guard. Last year, coming off his freshman season, during the Live Period, Jerrin picked up his first division I offer from Tennessee Tech, and he’s expected to pick up more offers this weekend. Mid major coaches should watch him closely as he’s flown under the radar, in most cases.
Highlights
Deston is probably the biggest breakout guard of the class of 2026 in Northeast GA. He’s standing around 5’10”, he’s arguably the best ball-handler and decision maker in the class of 2026, in Northeast Georgia. He’s a true floor general that can command an offense and be the extension, of the coach, on the floor. He’s a playmaker in transition and understands how to pass guys open to get them easy shot attempts. Since team camps began, he’s been on fire. He’s now showing to be consistent from beyond the arc, and shooting 3’s at a higher clip. As he continues to improve athletically, college coaches should be intrigued with how he continues to develop.
Another newcomer, at Guard, in the class of 2026 is
Matthew Collins

. He had a good showing at the UGA Team Camp both days, including one game where he had over 30 points. Going into this weekend he’s consistently scoring around 14-18ppg and he’s had multiple 20+ point games in the process. Matthew is a skilled ball-handler, a good passer, has good court vision, and can knock down 3’s in bunches. Matthew’s confidence on the court will ultimately determine how well he plays, but the skill is definitely there. Don’t be surprised if he ends up turning a few heads this weekend.
