The first live period was hot and heavy at both venues. Riverside Brookfield and Romeoville put together two good shootouts. I decided to put together a 2025 first team, second team, and honorable mention list from this past weekend's events.

1st Team 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='1576114' first='Dietrich' last='Richardson'] (Manual) 6'6 PG

Potential #1 prospect in the state. He was versatile as a passer and scoring threat. Underrated athlete.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385293' first='Bryce' last='Heard'] (Homewood Flossmoor) 6'5 G

Elite athlete who controlled the pace on both sides of the ball. Was the king of mid-range jumpers but also made some tough shots from three. Showed a lot on defense with his ability to guard one on one.

[player_tooltip player_id='1545146' first='Matthew' last='Zobrist'] (Metamora) F 6'5

Has made the biggest leap since the season ended. Matthew is confident and playing at a high level. Shot the ball well from deep and was good off the dribble finishing with the left.

[player_tooltip player_id='2321396' first='EJ' last='Horton'] (Phillips) G 6'2

Watched Horton at both events. He scored at a high rate. He got in the lane at will scoring over whoever was in front of him. He used his athleticism to control the pace of the game. He has earned multiple offers this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] (Rich Township) F 6'7

Brooks is another player who made a statement this weekend. After playing in what people considered lower level he broke out and had the same impact with upper level talents. Swiss at knife on the court he does it all.

2nd Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1977254' first='Luke' last='Smith'] (Addison Trail) G 6'0

The most consistent scorer at R-B this weekend. Huge numbers each game. The high-IQ point guard was a sniper from three. Controls the pace of the game and was wired to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598682' first='Daniel' last='Pauliukonis'] (Benet) PF 6'8

Big shooter who is mobile was very consistent this weekend. Didn't miss many shots whether catch and shoot or off screens he made a huge splash this past weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1434463' first='Brady' last='Sehlhorst'] (Niles Notre Dame) SF 6'7

Athletic wing player who has embraced the role as the number 1 option was a consistent 20-plus scoring threat. Has a good range from three and is a willing defender. Another player who was a 20-plus scoring threat in multiple games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2326960' first='Tyreek' last='Coleman'] (Waubonsie Valley) G 6'3

Highly skilled guard who makes good reads with the ball in his hands. Elite level passer who also has deep range on the shot and is hardly ever sped up by defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1433337' first='AJ' last='Demirov'] (Crystal Lake South) G 6'0

Broke the R-B scoring record with 44 points. Shifty guard who knows how to play the right way. A high-level facilitator who can get others around him better as well as score for himself.

Honorable Mention

[player_tooltip player_id='2044507' first='Brent' last='Taylor'] (LWE)

[player_tooltip player_id='1766472' first='Donte' last='Montgomery'] (Oak Lawn)

Cam Thomas (Mount Carmel)

[player_tooltip player_id='1385300' first='Antonio' last='Munoz'] (Young)

[player_tooltip player_id='1385287' first='EJ' last='Breland'] (St. Pats)

[player_tooltip player_id='1545117' first='Nick' last='Allen'] (Bradley Bourbonnais)

[player_tooltip player_id='1766506' first='Leshawn' last='Stowers'] (Peoria Central)

[player_tooltip player_id='1295579' first='Jax' last='Abalos'] (Batavia)

[player_tooltip player_id='2105191' first='Hunter' last='Gawron'] (Niles North)

[player_tooltip player_id='1545123' first='Sean' last='Reynolds'] (Dekalb)

[player_tooltip player_id='1550741' first='Jacob' last='Rice'] (St. Laurence)

[player_tooltip player_id='1766461' first='EJ' last='Mosley'] (St. Laurence)
