2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2530473' first='Qhjuan' last='Coley'] (Newton)

Coley did some nice things for Newton in the pair of games that I saw, giving them a strong, athletic guard on the perimeter who can attack the rim. He isn't afraid to mix it up with bigger bodies in the paint as a rebounder, pounding the glass hard on both ends of the floor, and his strength allows him to be an effective finisher around the rim, posting a pair of and-one finishes against Ballard.

2027 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2530475' first='Avery' last='Sorensen'] (Clear Creek Amana)

Sorensen is a standout football player and he absolutely looks like it, a physically mature sophomore forward with big, soft hands that he uses to control the glass, and a strong frame that he uses to finish through contact around the rim. His footwork is fluid, showing a very moves to go to on his post touches, and he's a willing passer out of the post. He'll provide the Clippers with some needed strength, rebounding, and potentially some interior scoring.

2027 SG Brock Hilsman (Clear Creek Amana)

Hilsman is a high IQ offensive player who is constantly moving on that end of the floor, putting pressure on his man with his motion. He shoots it well off the catch and with his constant movement he's able to find open spaces in the defense to get his shot off. He can also play with the ball in his hands, showing the ability to create for his teammates with good handles and court vision.

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2530477' first='Max' last='Johnson'] (Southeast Polk)

A catch-and-shoot weapon in the backcourt for the Rams, Johnson has a quick release off the catch and plenty of range, knocking down a pair of 3s in their win over ACGC. He moves well without the ball in his hands.

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2530481' first='Yiarh' last='Gonzales'] (Southeast Polk)

A 6-1/6-2 wing with athleticism, Gonzales showed the ability to score from two levels against ACGC, putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim, knocking down shots off the catch from deep, and getting out in transition. He has long arms that allow him to get up into passing lanes and make an impact on the game defensively.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2419749' first='Evan' last='Abbott'] (Centennial)

Abbott was really good in both viewings of the Jaguars, scoring 18 against Madrid and 17 against ADM. A three-level scorer with a great feel for the game, he can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end. He's willing to post up smaller defenders and score or find open teammates out of the post. He can take a bigger defender off the dribble and get to the rim. He can knock down shots from deep off the catch. He can pound the offensive glass and score on a second chance. He's a dynamic offensive player who can take over games for stretches, and with the substantial personnel losses for the Jaguars, he'll have a chance to do a lot for them for the next three years.

2027 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2420790' first='Cooper' last='Huston'] (Dallas Center-Grimes)

Huston is a talented guard who can play with and without the ball in his hands. He has good body control around the rim and is able to finish effectively through contact, despite his smaller stature. He sees the floor well and is a skilled passer with good instincts.

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2419814' first='Thomas' last='DeWall'] (Indianola)

A sharpshooting guard, DeWall showcased the ability to shoot it at a high clip off both the dribble and the catch against Kuemper Catholic, burying five 3-pointers in the loss. He moves well without the ball and has a very quick release off the catch, getting his feet squared and ready to fire. He also showed some ability as a secondary ball-handler, giving them some additional playmaking in their young backcourt.

2027 CG [player_tooltip player_id='2204081' first='Charlie' last='King'] (Roosevelt)

King is one of the top players in the state's 2027 class, and he showcased why he's so highly regarded throughout the weekend. A high IQ guard who can play with or without the ball, he does everything well. He shoots it at a high clip off both the dribble and the catch, and he does a nice job of letting his shot open up the rest of his game. He has good body control around the rim and can finish at a high level with either hand around the rim. He pounds the glass on both ends of the floor, and he can create plays off the dribble for his teammates.

2028 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2594655' first='Pete' last='Craig'] (Waukee)

Craig is an intriguing freshman who could see some minutes with the Warriors' varsity roster this winter. He has a big frame and long arms, probably checking in around 6-4/6-5. He can shoot it from the arc with pure form. He took a smaller defender onto the block and showed good touch and footwork. And perhaps most impressive was his feel for the game and vision. He showed good passing instincts out of the high post area, and did a nice job keeping his eyes up on his drives, getting the defense to come over and help, then finding a cutting teammate for an easy layup.

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2420802' first='Audric' last='Pelzer'] (Norwalk)

The sophomore guard is going to be asked to do a lot for the Warriors this season following a lot of losses to graduation, and he played well against both Roosevelt and Waukee, shooting it at a high clip off both the dribble and the catch. His shooting is his biggest asset, allowing more parts of his offensive game to open up after the defense starts to close out more aggressively. He doesn't get sped up and does a nice job getting his teammates involved.
