It also serves as the unofficial demarcation between the spring grassroots season and the beginning of the June scholastic period. As we at Prep Hoops Indiana begin to prepare for the month of June, let’s take a look back at the spring and highlight some of the top stock-risers in the Class of 2026. These are prospects that some college coaches are going to want to follow closely, or at least will start to shoot up our rankings, in the upcoming scholastic period.
One of the best pure shooters in Indiana’s Class of 2026, Daeger has been proving himself on the big stage this spring playing with Wildcat Select on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit. Daeger made 69 three-point shots during his sophomore season at Silver Creek High School while shooting at a 46.9% clip and leading the Dragons in scoring at 16.7 points per game. Now, while playing with and against some the best competition in the country, the 6’3″ guard has continued to shoot at an incredibly high percentage from beyond the arc. Along with his elite shooting ability and range, Daeger is also very athletic which will eventually help him transition to the collegiate level.
Highlights
Anytime you come across a knockdown shooter with size you are going to be intrigued. That is what this Terre Haute North High School prospect brings to the table at 6’6″ on the perimeter with a repeatable shooting stroke. Klopfenstein has helped lead the Indiana Jammers to a lot of success throughout the spring and should start to really blossom as a primary scoring option for THN this June in the scholastic period. He has flown a bit under-the-radar due to the veteran depth the Patriots had this past season, but he will seamlessly fill a primary scoring role going forward. There just simply aren’t many 6’6″ wings that can shoot it the way he does in Indiana’s Class of 2026.
Highlights
Petty projects as an impactful two-way wing with impressive upside on both ends of the floor. His length stands out right away which helps carry him on the defensive end of the floor. Then, offensively, he has a well-rounded game that allows him to score in a variety of ways. His height, length, and fluid athleticism help him to elevate up over the defense for mid-range jump shots or to finish at the rim. Petty has proven himself as a capable catch-and-shoot threat from beyond the arc as well. The North Central High School product has had a really good showing this spring for the Circle City Shoots on the Puma NXT Circuit and should break into the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2026 Top 100 when our next update hits.
This skilled guard has had an excellent spring for Indiana Game between several Prep Hoops Circuit events and the UA Rise circuit. Pokorney has good positional size and length on the perimeter which pairs nicely with his high skill level. He can shoot it at a high percentage from beyond the arc, create his own shot off of the dribble, and has really impressed with his overall playmaking and passing abilities. Already ranked #41 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2026, this Chesterton High School product is one who definitely could move up over the course of his high school career. He is a very skilled guard that projects favorably to the collegiate level.
Despite leading Goshen High School in scoring as a sophomore with 14.8 points per game, this 6’2″ guard has still flown under-the-radar statewide throughout the spring. Sawatzky is an excellent shooter and that is what stands out right away about his game offensively. He made 51 three-point shots at a 38.1% clip during the high school season and has impressed with his range and quick release this spring with Kyle Guy Elite Black. Look for Sawatzky to have a big summer and start to make his name known going into his junior season. He should break into our Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2026 Top 100 when our next update is released.
One of the top under-the-radar players in central Indiana, Sego earned Indiana Crossroads Conference Player of the Year honors as a sophomore after averaging 17.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and shooting 44.8% from three-point range on two makes per game. The 6’0″ guard has continued his strong play into this spring helping lead Indiana Elite Team Tradition to a perfect 8-0 make through two Adidas Gold circuit events. He is a high-percentage shooter, crafty off of the dribble, and is strong enough to play through contact. There is a lot to like about his game and he is proving this spring that he can be productive against high-level competition.
