A powerfully built 6’4” forward, Hemphill’s combination of athleticism and size jump out immediately. Quick second jump, which allowed him to clean up inside on the offensive glass. Hemphill also proved comfortable with the ball in his hands — pushing the break off of loose balls, making good decisions in transition, and knocking down a corner-three. He wasn’t exactly challenged by his opponents size on Friday night — allowing him to roam on the back-end of the defense — where he made an impact by actively sliding between rim contests to perimeter close-outs.
Productive scorer. He kept it going coming off a hot shooting performance during last weekend’s live period. Shoots it with range off movement. Displayed his athleticism on transition finishes.
Sherif put together a few straight-line drives in traffic in the second half that caught our attention. Both ended with physical finishes with a defender draped all over him. Moves his feet well, including on defense, for his size.
Highlights
Barbour blends length and athleticism with effort. He makes the second play, or the second effort, causing many problems at the point of attack. Impressive deceleration in transition to avoid a defender.
Highlights
A classic post player, Pearson sealed defenders under the basket all night, making post entries not only easy but obvious. Showed touch around the rim. Stepped outside for a few three-pointers, a valuable addition to his game.
