The force on the interior for Westland, Sherif had some huge blocks that ended possessions and allowed his team to start the fast break and establish dominance in the paint. An undersized forward who has a bigger frame, Sherif doesn’t back down from anybody in the paint and uses patient footwork to score around the rim. It takes big performances from seniors to move on in tight playoff settings and Sherif was huge on Tuesday night in the win.

Westland quietly has a lot of talent this season and Sherif was their most productive player during the Lima Mega Scrimmage when I watched them. A physical force on the low block, the lefty Sherif wants to bully you in the paint by lowering his shoulder and shooting over his right shoulder at the rim. Expanding his game by showing soft touch on jumpers, Sherif is one tough cover at the high school level and with all the young guard talent on Westland, they could be one of the sleeper teams in central Ohio this winter.

Sherif is a well built forward who can throw his weight around to get to different spots on the floor. He chipped in a team high 13 points. He was able to make a living on the interior often. Sherif made his fair share of chances at the foul line. He should be on the radar of small colleges and would be a nice pickup for schools in need of forward depth.

Sherif put together a few straight-line drives in traffic in the second half that caught our attention. Both ended with physical finishes with a defender draped all over him. Moves his feet well, including on defense, for his size.
