Hemphill has provided a big boost for Groveport-Madison after transferring in and his physicality in the paint was needed in an intense battle like this game was. Hemphill started the game hot with a time and space 3-pointer and then had an easy assist off a steal to help get Groveport-Madison rolling early. Hemphill would then make some big plays in the fourth quarter as his breakaway layup off a steal was a key turning point in momentum during the game. Impressive multi-sport athlete who unfortunately sees his high school basketball career come to an end.

Hemphill is a bruising forward who adores contact on either end of the floor. He has a nose for scoring around the basket. Everything Hemphill does is hard and only knows one way how to play. He takes advantage of weaker opponents with his brute strength. He was in good spots to secure rebounds, He also got to the charity stripe. I would like to see him become a more consistent shooter from deep. Hemphill is a viable plug in play option due to his versatility and you cannot take him off the floor. He is a priority recruit at the small college level.

Hemphill had his best weekend I’ve ever seen him play in July for Nova Village as he was really productive on the offensive end of the court. A strong big who has the strength and athleticism to bang in the paint, Hemphill was taking players off the dribble and showing more skill with the basketball than I’d seen before. A dual sport athlete, Hemphill is a talented prospect on the gridiron as well, already starring in scrimmages before the regular season kicked off. Look for Hemphill to generate recruiting interest in both sports during his senior season.

Friday might’ve been the best game I’ve seen Hemphill play as he was impactful at both ends of the court against one of the better UAA groups. Hemphill has developed a little more of a perimeter game as he attacked a closeout off the dribble for a layup finish and also shot the ball well from 3-point range with his feet set. A strong player in the paint, Hemphill fought for loose balls, rebounds and tried jumping a few passing lanes for steals as well. Very interesting dual sport athlete from central Ohio.

Playing for the championship winning Nova Village 17 U group, Hemphill plays a vital role due to his strength, rebounding, motor and athleticism. Hemphill has always drawn the assignment of guarding some of the top forwards on the opposing team and wears players down with his physical style of play. Offensively, Hemphill flashed a couple nice moves off the dribble and finished at the rim.

Hemphill is someone who shines in his role for this Nova squad. I like what he brings as a physically slashing wing. He is a mismatch for most teams because he brings a different level of strength. He finds his opportunities to score and goes for it aggressively. Hemphill attacks defensive rotations every time. He does not force. He is a monster on the boards. His physicality from the perimeter is a game-changer for Nova.

A multi-sport athlete who stays extremely busy throughout the year, Hemphill goes straight from football to high school basketball to grassroots basketball to 7 on 7 and repeats the cycle as a talented forward and wide receiver. For Nova Village’s 17 U squad, Hemphill led the team with 8 rebounds and 2 blocks a game to open up their circuit play. A physical big who has a relentless motor, Hemphill is a junkyard dog who isn’t afraid to mix it up down low. I expect Hemphill to get college interest for both sports this summer.

Hemphill is a strong and physical post player who plays bigger than what he is. He is not the tallest forward but his presence in the post was massive. He posts up strong. He was a monster on the board on both ends. He attacks the glass with relentless effort. He has a good handle on the ball as well. He can make a move and get to the rim. He is an explosive athlete as well and this was shown in two half-court dunks off of one foot.

Another member from the Nova Village 16 U UA Rise championship team, Hemphill has been a perfect fit for Bishop Hartley as a wide receiver who can block and catch jump passes. The Hawks got a key win over Bloom-Carroll to get back into the playoff bracket if the season ended today. Hemphill also stood out at the Prep Hoops Expo in September, continually showing his athletic versatility.

Hemphill is one of the top multi-sport athletes in the 2026 class and after a big Friday night football game, Hemphill came out and competed well on Saturday. One of the more physically imposing bigs, Hemphill is a load to keep off the glass and plays bigger than his listed height. His ball tracking skills as a wide receiver translate to the hardwood when he’s going after rebounds and loose balls. Hemphill also almost pulled off one of the highlights of the day when he almost dunked all over a defender.
