Trustworthy is an important trait to carry at the point guard position. More than anything, the game feels calm when Calloway has the ball. He’s a smooth operator with a clean shooting stroke. Doesn’t need much room to release his jumper. Defensively, Calloway has elite lateral quickness.
Highlights
The lefty’s game is most dangerous down-hill. Perkins is fearless, finishing through contact and with creativity in traffic. He’s also just flat-out fast. Added a few jumpers from the outside to round out his performance.
Highlights
Creager has great size on the perimeter and looks like a guy who could switch between multiple positions at the next level defensively. On the defensive side, he dictated ball-handlers by forcing them left and poking the ball loose when they came back to their dominant hand. Strong hands. Contributes as a rebounder, as well.
The Buckets’ game against TeamXcel was tied at half before Koester knocked down back-to-back triples. He scored the first 8 points of the half and proceeded to continue taking over the game, while remaining within the offense. Koester has a strong frame and used it to play at a controlled pace off the dribble. Smaller guards bounce off him. Scored in just about every imaginable way to put the game away.
Hill showed both his willingness to play physically and a soft touch as a driver. Strong frame. He thrives going hard-right, then using a spin move to create enough separation for a floater. Hill is the team’s preeminent scoring option. He appropriately hunted scoring opportunities but was also very willing to make the right play, routinely finding open shooters. Competitor.
Vickerstaff showed flashes of a dangerous offensive game throughout the night. When he gets to a comfortable spot inside the arch off the dribble, he can turn his back and use his size to carve out a high-percentage look. Not a lot of 6’5” guys walking around with his combination of mobility, grace, and natural scoring ability. Lot of potential to be tapped into.
