Calloway is one of the more veteran guards in the state and someone you can rely on and truly lean on; he showed that. In Hartley’s game against Alder, he came out of the locker room with a different level of intensity and focus, and it completely flipped the game. He was tasked to handle the incredible pressure from Winton Woods, and he was able ot do that. He knew when to attack and score, but also dish when needed. He is a super selfless player, and this makes the defense never truly be able to collapse on him. He is finishing around the gym very well. He is not the biggest player, but he creates and absorbs contact so well. He has great body control and touch around the rim.

Calloway reminded folks why he’s one of the top players in central Ohio with a dominant performance to end the night. Calloway had an excellent and-1 finish where he floated in the air past a shot blocker. Also knocking down some nasty pull-up 3-pointers. I love how low Calloway gets on his dribble and he made some nasty drift passes from the baseline. Those passes led to numerous 3-pointers for Calloway’s teammates. Bishop Hartley is rolling after an opening week loss.

Back in 2020 a Columbus star committed to Kent State won Mr Basketball as VonCameron Davis took home the award in the COVID shortened tournament season. Could Calloway follow what Davis path led? We shall see. Bishop Hartley has been knocking on the door of a regional championship and I think this could be the year where the Hawks make the final four and threaten for a push to UD Arena.

Calloway was amazing in the 17U championship game. He was by far the best player on the floor and as someone who has watched Calloway play a lot, it’s the best version of him. He will always have an impact on the game with his ability to control the game. His high IQ and passing will always show up but he brought his shooting in this game. He was knocked down from deep and confident. The ball came off his hand quick and he didn’t need any space to give it off. It was fun to watch him expand his scoring to beyond the arc which could’ve been the only concern of his game. Well, this should no longer be a concern for anyone.

I have seen Calloway play many games and no matter what the talent level or pace of the game he always seems in control of it when the ball is in his hands. He just runs the show and sees the floor so well. This truly shows with this Nova squad as he sets his teammates up in the best spot on the court. He has a great IQ. He is always all over the floor. His motor and stamina are something that is a slept-on quality as well. Never seems to get tired and plays the entire game.

One of the shiftiest point guards in the state, Calloway has consistently improved his 3-point shot and turned it from a weakness to a strength and that dedication to his game has made him a steady stock riser in our rankings updates. Despite being an undersized guard, Calloway is a relentless on-ball defender who doesn’t back down from a challenge. After a monster performance in the state tournament for Bishop Hartley, Calloway and company are set for a strong UAA season after winning the 16 U UA Rise championship.

Calloway was sensational as his shot-making ability from beyond the arc kept Bishop Hartley alive for stretches and even take a multi-possession lead in the third quarter. With tough buzzer-beating 3-pointers to end the first and second quarters, Calloway is a guy you can give the ball to at end of clock situations and he’ll get a good look. While Calloway has always been an elite defender who is shifty off the dribble, his improvement as a 3-point shooter has elevated his game to another level. One of the top point guards in Ohio’s 2026 class, I expect him to continue to be pursued heavily by regional Division I programs this summer while playing for Nova Village on the UAA circuit.

Calloway is a player that can control a game with his point guard skill set. It is even more impressive because he prefers to play at a fast-track meet game. This makes most other point guards’ jobs more difficult but with Calloway’s IQ and skillset, he excels. He is a great distributor to teammates. He was great in transition on deciding to score or dish it. His quickness and shiftiness make it incredibly difficult to stay in front of him.

Calloway did a good job tonight of scoring the ball. He is usually a pass-first point guard but he was getting to the rim and finishing well. He was very active on the defensive end. He got a ton of steals from being active and in the passing lanes. He is an explosive player and showed that tonight in many ways. It shows his versatility.

Calloway has everything you would ask for in a point guard at any level. He has the ball on a tight handle with a great shifty and quickness to him. He never puts his head down when he dribbles the ball. He sees the entire floor the entire game. He makes the correct passes with the ball in his hands. High IQ player.
