Teams from Michigan that have been spread out most of the spring came together to play a tournament event. It was an opportunity for teams o show their improvement to others in the state. There were some very high energy and high intensity games, which made for a thrilling weekend of basketball. We’re going to give you 5 players that were show stoppers in this big time environment.
Claerbaut was impressive to say the least. He was a perfect example of a very tall, long and skilled Northcoast Premier 2026 team. He protected the rim with his length, walling up and challenging finishers at the basket. Claerbaut showed a lot of versatility on the offensive end. He could go over the top of defenders with touch in the post, but could also step outside and shoot from deep effectively stretching the defense.

Robert Lowther
Lowther was a player that was new to me. I was very glad that I was able to see him play. He was intelligent and efficient with the ball, playing very mistake free and always recognizing good looks. Lowther was willing and able to make the extra pass, while still showing a really nice stroke on his jumper.
Kohler has always been a very talented player, but he’s obviously taken his game to yet another level. Kohler was easily one of the most impressive players in the gym. He attacks the rim with speed burst and quickness and finishes with body control. Kohler finds and feeds teammates with accurate passes on a string. He sees the floor and can hit a teammate on the move down the floor.
D2’s need to see Slack play IMMEDIATELY and D1’s take note. He has taken the Prep Hoops Circuit by storm, leading the circuit nationwide in scoring twice. What’s even better is that his game truly excels when he and his teammates are sharing the ball and trusting that it will come back. Slack is a true 3 level scorer with one of the best re-jumps that I’ve seen at any event.
Highlights
Parmentier put his game on display at the Michigan State Tournament. The young man can flat out fill it up. His jumper is and was simply dangerous. He has see the rim range and doesn’t need much time or space to get it up. He’s a quality competitor that will take and make the big shot. The type of player who’s on court demeanor is very well respected by opposing coaches.
