The Hoopsource Memorial Day Championships has always featured some of the best teams in the state in a competitive field, and this year is no different. We had the opportunity to drop by Evergreen High School in Vancouver to check out action in the 17U Atlantic bracket and here are some of the top performers from Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id='1368277' first='Landon' last='Knox'], More Than Hoop 17U (2025 Cascade)

Although he came off the bench in both games, Knox might have been his team's leading scorer on day one of the event. The rising senior from Cascade was his usual self knocking down jumpers from deep but more than showed how he's capable of using a number of creative moves off the dribble to get himself open to wherever he wanted to for pull-up jumpers and drives to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1953759' first='Owen' last='Bentea'], Oregon Prospects South (2025 Roseburg)

Bentea is one of the better makers of threes when contested in the state as he's fearless taking shots and has a quick release. He drained a few from deep early on in a Prospects win over [program_tooltip program_id='2248658' first='Boss' last='Basketball'] and that opened up lanes for him to get to the basket and finish through contact. As always, the rising Roseburg senior was all over the court applying pressure on the basketball on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2458208' first='Andrew' last='Imhoff'], [program_tooltip program_id='2248658' first='Boss' last='Basketball'] (2025 Trinity Lutheran)

Despite the loss, Imhoff shined by showing his ability to score at multiple levels. Whether it was hitting open threes, using a couple of dribbles to create for pull-ups, or posting up inside, the rising Trinity Lutheran senior helped [program_tooltip program_id='2248658' first='Boss' last='Basketball'] maintain an early lead in the game. At 6-foot-5 with length, we have a hard time seeing how anyone at the 1A level is able to match up with him as he continually proves himself against big school guys.

[player_tooltip player_id='2046424' first='Gavin' last='Aguilar'], Albany Elite (2025 West Albany)

Aguilar had a great first day at the Memorial Day Championships on the offensive end. The rising West Albany senior shot the ball well from deep, often times from way beyond the high school three-point line, but also used his crafty dribble and moves to get around defenders for soft pull-ups or opportunities around the hoop to get to the line. He was aggressive with the basketball, but not in a selfish or careless way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450155' first='Aidan' last='Kelly'], More Than Hoop 17U (2025 La Salle)

On Saturday, it was clear that Kelly has become more confident with his ability to score the basketball. He didn't hesitate to shoot from the outside when open and it was clear he's been working on improving his perimeter jumper as he hit a number of shots from mid-range out to the three-point line. The rising La Salle senior did this all without sacrificing his willingness to battle inside on the board and stay strong on the defensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110591' first='RJ' last='Alexander'], Oregon Prospects North (2024 Gresham)

As we've come to expect, Alexander made his mark with his shooting ability. He launched early and often - sometimes from NBA range - and was sharp with his lefty quick-release jumper, hitting eight threes over two games. Far from just a mad bomber, the former Gophers standout also converted some tough drives to the hoop and was active on the defensive end. He remains unsigned.

[player_tooltip player_id='1110578' first='Max' last='Juhala'], Oregon Prospects North (2024 West Linn)

Playing at the point, Juhala consistently made good plays with the ball in his hands whether it was using his length to score around the hoop or dishing it to teammates for scores. With his 6-foot-5 frame and length, he was very difficult for most defenders to contain and on his drives, he often effectively absorbed contact and still finished. He recently made his college commitment and will be announcing it soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1483410' first='Brysen' last='Kachel'], Albany Elite (2024 West Albany)

As he was during his senior season at West Albany, was practically unstoppable on the court. He used his strong frame to bully through defenders in the paint for position and then used his soft touch out to mid-range to convert jumpers. Kachel was strong on the boards and there simply aren't many guys at the high school level who can match up with his combination of size and skill. He's a steal of a signee for Linn-Benton.

[player_tooltip player_id='1197476' first='Kaden' last='Groenig'], Oregon Prospects South (2024 Southridge)

Getting the opportunity to play for one of his future coaches at OIT in Mitch Fink, Groenig suited up for the day with the Prospects South team and instantly made an impact - even though it was the first time he was every playing with some of his teammates. The future Hustlin' Owl was sharp with his outside shooting and really kept defenders off-balance with his variety of dribble-drive moves and finishes over bigger players around the hoop.
