The post class still has talent who can make an impact at the next level. Here are the 2025 center prospects to watch.
Yaw Ansong Yaw Ansong 6'11" | C Union Catholic | 2025 State #345 Nation NJ , 6’11 Union Catholic
Ansong is the top center prospect in the class and has the potential to have a big AAU season. The 6’11 post has a nice touch around the basket and can draw contact in the paint. Ansong has a high release on his jumper and his range extends out to the three-point line. He influences a ton of shots around the basket with his combination of size and timing. Ansong’s ability to protect the rim will help his stock in a big way this AAU season.
Daniel Marcellinus Daniel Marcellinus 6'11" | C Roselle Catholic | 2025 #125 Nation NJ , 6’11 Roselle Catholic
Marcellinus is a force down low and will be one to watch this spring and summer. The 6’10 post uses his strong frame to get position down low and is unafraid of drawing contact down low. Marcellinus has a good touch around the basket and sets strong screens in the halfcourt. He is tough to boxout on both ends of the floor and blocks shots around the rim. Marcellinus is a physical, post prospect whose ability to control the paint will help his stock over the next couple of months.
Jayden Elijah Jayden Elijah 6'7" | C Matawan | 2025 State NJ , 6’7 Matawan
Elijah’s collegiate career lies on the gridiron, but he still makes plays on the hardwood. The Rutgers football commit finishes nicely around the basket and plays with good footwork down low. Elijah runs the floor hard and routinely draws contact down low. He is a force on the boards and holds his ground on the defensive end. Elijah is a tough, post prospect who should have a big senior season for the Huskies.
Matthew Remius Matthew Remius 6'7" | C Rutherford | 2025 State NJ , 6’7 Rutherford
Remius had a breakout junior season and is looking to carry over that success into the spring and summer. The 6’7 forward knows how to get position down low and has a soft touch around the rim. Remias has a nice release on his free throws and can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and blocks a ton of shots around the basket. Remias had two 30-and-15 games in his junior season and should eclipse that mark in 2024-25.
David Ekhelar David Ekhelar 6'8" | C Newark East Side | 2025 State NJ , 6’8 Newark East Side
Ekhelar has the potential to make noise this AAU season with his ability to impact the paint. The 6’8 post works for rebounds on both ends of the floor as he has a knack for securing offensive rebounds. Ekhelar uses his combination of length and athleticism to influence shots around the basket and can hold his ground defensively. He sets good screens in the halfcourt and is able to get position down low. Ekhelar is a lanky, post prospect whose ability to swat shots and run the floor hard will help his development in a big way.
