Elijah likes to establish his physical presence the moment the ball is tipped off. He will control the post/painted area the whole game using his strong upper body to bully his way under the rim so he can have the best chance to score around the rim. Elijah is also very disciplined and smart as whenever he gets an offensive rebound he won’t force it going straight up with multiple defenders swarming him. Instead, he will either look to dribble out of the paint or find his open teammates on the perimeter for the open three. He will set hard screens and does an excellent job rolling to the basket.

Elijah is a player that plays with a lot of toughness and physicality in the paint. With his back to the basket in the post, he will look to throw his body around and back you down until he gets good positioning under the rim. His timing on offensive putbacks makes him a matchup nightmare for most centers. Elijah can go up and use the post-hook shot or look to throw it down depending how on small the defender on him is.

Elijah is a defensive beast down low in the paint. His physical presence makes him very intimidating to go up against when trying to challenge him. He will swat any shot close to him and can move and help on double teams all around the court. Elijah has great recovery timing on blocking shots and uses his strong body to get in the way of players. He recorded 62 blocks this past season.
