Opponents had no answer for Braden inside, as he had a monster game on Friday night in a blowout win. He was dominant on the offensive boards, being able to come down with contested rebounds, keep the ball high and finish over defenders. He’s a great screener and worked well in tandem with the talented guards on his team, as they would find him inside for easy scores around the basket. Petzel is a smart player and was also finding his teammates when extra help came towards him.
Highlights
Cooper took over in the second half of a hard fought win over Minnesota Select on Friday night. The 2026 wing has a strong 6’3” frame and used it to attack the basket at full speed, being able to absorb contact for super difficult finishes through traffic. He can convert on tough layups with either hand and was creating opportunities for himself with or without the ball. Mellican had some great back cuts to the basket and could attack using the dribble in the half court as well.

Xavier was more of a spot up shooter during the high school season, but shined in an expanded role on Friday. He looked really good when running the point for his team, showing off his elite vision and ball handling. He was threading the needle and making extra passes to give his teammates wide open looks. Frelix can shoot it from deep as well, which he did a lot of during the winter, as he has smooth mechanics and a quick release. I also noticed that he is a great rebounder for his position, as he came away with some contested boards.
I really loved the effort and intensity that Colin was bringing on both ends of the floor. He is a versatile defender with the combination of size and mobility, as I saw him pick up several blocks on both guards and forwards. He can score in a variety ways, being able to knock down an open shot from the perimeter and attack with aggression for tough scores at the rim. I saw him run the floor, catch a pass, and absorb contact for an and-one finish at full speed in Friday night’s win.

Michael caught fire on Friday night, almost willing his Minnesota Select squad to a victory. He is a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc and opened up the second half with four made triples in the first couple minutes of play. The sophomore guard has a smooth and quick release, showing extreme confidence when pulling up from deep. McKenzie was also very vocal on the defensive side of the ball, helping out his teammates.
Highlights
The shots were not necessarily falling for Lamont on Friday night, but I really liked how he impacted the game in other ways. I was mostly impressed with his ball handling and ability to work as his team’s floor general. He is a great passer and was one step ahead of the defense when getting his teammates involved. Michaels has a deep bag of dribble move combinations, which he used to work around defenders that were picking up full court, sparking 5v4 opportunities for his team.
Delbert Hardin
Delbert Hardin
I admire the energy and passion Delbert brings to a team. He is always playing at full speed, flying around the floor, making plays on both sides of the ball. He stands at 6-foot-4 and is uber athletic. This allows him to be a weapon on the defensive side of the ball, being able to match up with pretty much anyone. The unsigned senior can also absorb contact to finish around the rim through defenders. The energy he plays with is infectious and can give his team huge, momentum boosting plays at any given moment.
