Let’s quickly dive in and touch on six more prospects that stood out with their individual performances. We will have more coverage from the weekend in the coming days as well.
Sunday proved why Elkins was included in the Top 10 of our initial Class of 2027 Prospect Rankings here at Prep Hoops Indiana. The 6’3″ left-handed guard has an excellent mixture of athleticism, skill, and positional size for his age. Elkins hit some tough step back three-point shots on the perimeter, finished above the rim a couple of times in transition, and created for himself going to the basket in the half court. Really intriguing prospect.
Evans scored 18 points as Darius Garland Elite 2025 held on to defeat a very good Indiana Elite Team Indiana 2025 team 74-71 to cap off the day at the Pacers Athletic Center. The 6’0″ guard has a real knack for shot-making from the perimeter and can create his own shot consistently off of the bounce. An under-the-radar name for college programs to follow this spring and summer.
It is hard to find freshmen guards with the level of raw explosiveness that Gardner Jr. possesses off of the bounce. He is incredibly quick end-to-end, has high-level shiftiness in the half court, and also knocked in some jump shots on Sunday. Garner Jr. plays with Indiana Elite 3SSB 2027 after being a valuable backup guard for the 29-1 Class 4A State Champion Fishers Tigers.
Jewell had an excellent weekend for Progeny UA Rise 2025. The 6’1″ guard from North Central High School displayed some legitimate explosiveness off of the dribble getting to the rim and then elevating up to the finish. His aggressiveness in the backcourt constantly puts opposing defenders on their heels.
You don’t come across many 6’10” freshmen with the level of strength that Vandegriff displayed on Sunday. He is a well put together center that scored it through contact inside and made several nice passes out of a double team without getting sped up. The sky is the limit for Vandegriff and he should have a huge summer, no pun intended, for Indiana Elite 3SSB 2027.
Sunday certainly wasn’t the first time we have seen Yoder have a game like this for Indiana Elite Team Indiana , but it is still always equally impressive when it happens. The 6’6″ forward from Woodland High School knocked in four three-point shots in the first half of a game making them in a variety of ways. He hit one off the pick-and-pop, slipped into a pop for the second one, and then hit a third moving off of a downscreen. The lefty can flat out shoot the basketball.
