Many of the Carolinas’ top independent programs were in attendance making for a fun day of action. These five prospects are Guards who stood out by running the show for the respective teams on Saturday, contributing to success by making plays on both ends of the floor. Check them out below:
Terry Cunningham Terry Cunningham 5’11” | SG Fountain Inn | 2025 State SC headlines our list of Top Guards from the 2024 Phenom Hoops Queen City Showcase. Terry has a lot more of the ball in his hands with the Fountain Inn Kings than he did for Fountain Inn High School where he was playing off-the-ball, but he impressed in this new role. Cunningham was a reliable playmaker and balanced when to find teammates and when to score the rock well. He has always been a good defender too, which he showcased in both games on Saturday.
Coyie is running with Next Level Elite Poole this season, coached by his father Howie Poole. They have a very balanced squad and Coyie could be seen playing either spot in the backcourt. He was at the 2-guard most often on Saturday, where his shooting ability stood out. He knocked down both of his attempts from behind the arc and had a handful of assists to pair with it. Poole was one of the most efficient shooters in the state this past high school season – shooting over 50% from three with 70 makes – so his outing this weekend was no surprise.
Devin Agard
Devin Agard
Agard stood out against fierce competition first thing Saturday Morning. He had 12 Points against Tennessee Impact, an Adidas Gold program. Devin has a nasty crossover and excels at getting past his defender and to the basket. He favors his right hand, especially when going downhill, but he was rarely contained by Impact’s perimeter defense.
Grey Disbrow
Grey Disbrow
Next Level Elite ‘s 16U Group were running platoons in their early afternoon matchup with Fountain Inn Kings 16U and it was Disbrow who ran the show for the second group in the second half as his squad pulled away. He began to get in a rhythm by earning trips to the free-throw line which got him set up for his perimeter shot. Grey did a good job of keeping the NLE offense flowing, getting them through their sets and finding teammates. He had 8 Points and 3 Assists in the win.
The eye test would not back up the fact that Keyon Knowles Keyon Knowles 5’9″ | PG Riverside | 2027 SC is a Freshman playing up with Pasadena Stars’ 16U Group. He was one of the most impressive players on Saturday, doing it all from his lead-guard role. He is very quick with the ball in his hands and turns corners around screens or defenders in a flash. He can finish around the rack or from the outside but is very aware of help defense on drives, racking up several assists on kick-outs in a win over Hjemly.
