had a solid year for a young and talented Riverside squad. Shane is a knockdown shooter and has nice size. At 6’6, Shane has the ability to hit shots over defenders. Shane has excellent range, and he is one of the best shooters in NOVA.

South Lakes guards put a lot of pressure on opposing guards with how good they are on defense.

is a pest on defense for South Lakes, and he was a big part of a state championship-winning South Lakes squad. Sol is an excellent rebounder for a guard and a good passer. Sol was first-team all-district and was named to the district defensive team as well.
HM Charles Pargo
Charles Pargo had a terrific year for Unity Reed. Unity Reed had a tough year, but I got to check out a few of their games, and Charles was a bright spot. Charles was one of the more improved players in NOVA this year. He is a great defender with his length, and he is a skilled driver with a decent jump shot. Charles averaged 19.7 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 1.5 BPG.

is a skilled offensive player with a versatile scoring game. Anthony was great for a good Edison team this year. He is strong and a great athlete. He is a terrific driver and can score from everywhere on the court. Anthony finished the year averaging 14 PPG, 5 RPG, and 5 APG. He was also a first-team all-region and first-team all-district selection.
Centreville’s record doesn’t quite give you a representation of the talent they have on their team. They lost a lot of competitive games, and the talent they have is super young. I got to watch a handful of Centreville’s games, and Jaxson Davis Jaxson Davis 6’0″ | PG Centreville | 2025 State VA always impressed me. He has fantastic handles and is a great finisher. He creates a lot of offense and makes some tough jump shots. He finished second-team all-state and averaged 17.4 PPG.
At my other guard spot, I have Andrew Maria Andrew Maria 6’5″ | SG Yorktown | 2025 State VA . Andrew is one of the better finishers in the area. Andrew attacks the rim hard and lives at the line. He is a good athlete and a plus defender. Andrew averaged 15.8 PPG and 4.4 RPG. He was an all-region selection and had an excellent year for Yorktown.
Highlights
Jordan Scott Jordan Scott 6’7″ | SG South Lakes | 2025 State #130 Nation VA was a no-brainer here. He’s arguably the best public school player in NOVA, and he was the biggest reason South Lakes won a state championship. Jordan is outstanding on both ends of the court and affects the game in many ways. There’s not a lot left to be said that hasn’t already been said about Jordan, and you’d be hard-pressed to find a real deficiency in his game. He was district player of the year for the second straight year, along with being state player of the year in class 6.
Highlights
Preston White Preston White 6’6″ | PF Gainesville | 2025 State VA had a terrific season for Gainesville. I talked about Preston being one the best players in the state not ranked in the top 100. Preston is a great rebounder and hard to stop around the rim. He plays through contact well, and this year was a breakout year for him. Preston finished first-team in the Cedar District and was also named first-team all-region.
Brandon Edozie Brandon Edozie 6’8″ | C Forest Park | 2025 State VA was a force inside for Forest Park. He’s one of the strongest and overall biggest bigs in the area, and he was great this year. Brandon has great touch and uses his strength to bully players in the paint. He is unstoppable on the offensive glass, and he does a good job protecting the paint. When Brandon is a little bit more of a focal point, offensively, teams will need to double him because there aren’t many bigs that have the strength to stop him. Brandon was first-team all-region.
