The teams in the spacious Champion Center all set out to attain bragging rights for the year. Each game had highlight worthy plays, and players looking to prove their team was worthy of a Championship Title. Although there can only be one champion, there was no shortage of intensity throughout the entire weekend in each division. Below, I highlighted the “Day 1 Standouts” that I was able to watch at the “Madness in the Midwest”.
Max Blandin | WOTN
Blandin applied pressure on the rim a great deal for WOTN. Beating the initial defense and making plays for himself and others, the active wing had a great showing on day 1 of pool play.
Brecken Jimenez Brecken Jimenez 6'3" Lakeside Lutheran | 2026 WI | Wisconsin Academy
Jimenez led the way for Wisconsin Academy on day 1. He showed some strong drives to the basket and soft touch at the rim. He used his wingspan and length to his advantage a great deal.
Logan Becker Logan Becker 6'3" | SG Aquinas | 2026 State WI | Wisconsin 26ers
Becker managed the pace well for the 26ers. He provided poise and toughness by rebounding a great deal and initiating the offense. His rhythm and feel for the game produced open shots for himself and others.
Ryan Buchanan Ryan Buchanan 6'3" | SG Kimberly | 2026 WI | All WIisconsin
Buchannan had a balanced showing for All Wisconsin. In day 1 he was a two-way threat on the perimeter. Hitting and contesting shots from range and making selfless plays throughout.
