Jenkin helped lead Colfax to the 2B state title last season and has picked up right where he left off in the AAU season. He’s a taller guard at 6-foot-4 who has shown unlimited range from 3PT. Besides having the green light to spray from deep, he’s also an athletic kid who can make plays at the rim, continues to look more and more impressive physically, and should be in store for a big AAU season with Hooptown.
The former King’s guard is suiting up with Seattle Select this AAU season and has fit right in in the early season with one of the more talented teams in the state. He’s an athletic guard who can slot into both guard spots and has shown his dynamic offensive skills with strong finishes inside as well as an ability to read the floor on the go. His 3PT shot looks to be improved which adds yet another dimension to his already well-rounded game.
Highlights
Another tall, athletic guard, Northrop stood out for his ability to stretch the floor and catch fire from deep this past year for Richland but there is a lot more to his game than just shooting. He’s a physical guard who plays tough defense, can finish in a number of ways in and around the paint, and has the ability to play both guard spots with his skillset. He’s making noise early on for Hooptown and should continue to play a key role throughout the AAU season.
Highlights
An electric guard who’s always pushing the tempo on both ends of the floor, Weatherspoon plays with an incredible engine and is usually one of, if not the quickest player on the floor. He’s really controlled the game when on the court for Idaho Premier so far this season, constantly gets paint touches and can finish acrobatically or with touch as he pulls up for short floaters and runners. He plays with great vision and instincts, allowing him to be a true playmaker on both sides of the court.
Another instinctual and high IQ player, Martin makes the most of his touches and seems to almost always make the right play. We saw how he can be the top scoring option in the high school season but with this group at Seattle Select he’s showcasing his ability to distribute the ball to talented guys around him, draw multiple defenders, and make the right find for assists. He can still go get a bucket when needed but he can also be a glue guy at the point who does all the little things to keep his team running at maximum output.
