I showed up to the independent league of NY2LA, for their production of the annual tournament of Swish-n-Dish. This was my tipoff to one of my favorite times of the year and I was able to take in three games and was impressed.
Game 1 Prospects:
Drew Murphy Drew Murphy 6'4" | SF Verona | 2025 State WI | 6’5″ | 2025 | W | Wisconsin Swing
I have seen Drew play several times over the last few seasons. I always like checking in on this prospect. This did not disappoint in that he hit 6-3s, 5 of which were in the first half, onto posting 24pts in the win for Swing. Additionally, he made a couple of tough shots for his club, and I liked him going hard to the hoop. The last time I saw him I thought that he was filling out physically and that is great to see at this level.
Tyler Haney Tyler Haney 6'1" | CG Sun Prairie | 2025 State WI | 6’1″ | 2025 | PG | Wisconsin Swing
Saw Tyler in the high school season playing against a tough Milwaukee Academy of Science team. I felt then and I feel now that he processes good point guard skills. He handles the rock good enough to get out of most pressure situations and he can calmly get his clubs into their particular sets on offense. Have not seen him get raddled too much. For this game he gave me a very solid game and an appreciation for his approach.
Ty Schaefer | 6’3 | W | 2025 | Wisconsin Swing
First time for me really noticing this prospect. He performed well in hitting four threes for the game. Felt he had some size and/or some length to his frame. Afterwards, when compiling my notes on the game I wrote ‘find out more on this one’ and with that I am committed to checking in on this prospect again.
Devin Isaj Devin Isaj 6'6" | SF Greendale | 2025 State WI | 6’5″ | 2025 | W | Chapman Academy
I have been tracking this one for a minute now and I like what the prospect has to offer. Last summer, to fall, to the start of the high school season, I saw marked improvement, which is always a top priority of mine to see. He only tallied 13 points in the lost for his club, but when I was focused in on him, he was active. Being active might just be the biggest priority for a college scout to see. With all of that said this one still has potential to reach for.
Zach Behn Zach Behn 6'7" | SG Kewaskum | 2025 State WI | 6’6″ | W | 2025 | Chapman Academy
For me, this prospect was the most impressive of the whole game from both sides. That is not taking away from anyone else’s skill or play. I do not get to see much of this young prospect but as I tweeted out during the contest, he looked to have marked improvement in fluid athleticism with a variety of finishing towards the hoop. I felt that he looked physically strong and then I understood his approach to the game with his fight for some boards etc. I say he that he could have been the most impressive the kid and he only posted 8 points for the contest. Let that be a lesson to all, a lot of the time points don’t matter, it’s capitalizing on your opportunities.
Justin Bliesner | 6’4″ | W | 2025 | Chapman Academy
Who is this kid and where did he come from? WOW! 5 for 5 on 3pointers. He has size at 6’4″ / 6’5″, then he has a nice physical frame. Note to self: Make sure that this one and his ball club are on the schedule later this spring summer for a recheck.
