Izayah is coming off of a great freshman season and carried it right into Sunday’s event. The 6’4” freshman already has great size for his position, as he was playing in either of the guard spots. He has the ball on a string and was excellent at setting defenders up to then pull up from deep or make a move to get downhill for a finish. He has an incredibly deep bag of moves and was finding no problems creating space for looks. Cook is one of the most skilled players in the state’s 2027 class and has loads of potential, especially if he continues to grow.
Trey showed off his versatile game and high basketball IQ on Sunday. He is predominantly an interior positioned player who showed flashes of being able to work on the perimeter as well. He held down the paint in all facets of the game, being able to alter opponents shots, grab contested rebounds, and score in the post. He looked really good in the pick & roll, setting hard screens then rolling to the basket where he could finish with either hand on either side of the rim. Theis also connected with a couple catch-and-shoot threes in the one game that I saw.

Kolby was a player that really impressed me on Sunday, as I was not very familiar with his game headed into the event. He is a point guard who can get his teammates involved when conducting an offense, as well as find ways to score himself. He has great vision for his age and was finding others for easy scores in the half court and in transition. The Prior Lake guard can score from anywhere on the floor. He was pulling up for deep three-point makes and using his tight handle to get around his defender for tough finishes around the rim.
Luke may just be the best shooter in Minnesota’s 2027 class and was pulling up from deep on Sunday. In the action that I saw, he connected with most of his looks off the catch, being a go-to option for teammates when they were making kick out passes. He also knocked down a couple triples off the dribble, being able to pull up in a flash, not allowing the defense to get an effective contest. He could also use pump fakes to get a defender out of position where he could attack the rim.
Santiago was one of my favorite players to watch at the freshman showcase this fall and much was the same on Sunday. He is a very skilled guard, who can create for himself with the ball in his hands. He impressed me most in the 1 on 1 and 3 on 3 sessions, being able to create space from defenders for pull up jumpers and strong takes to the basket. Connell also showed the ability to play without the ball, always ready for catch-and-shoot looks.

Justice is a 2027 prospect, but was running with the older group on Sunday. He has skill well beyond his years and looked comfortable serving as the main ball handler and facilitator for his team. He is a willing shooter from the perimeter, knocking down triples off the catch and off the dribble. He has good vision for his age as well, taking advantage of numbers in transition to give his team opportunities for easy scores.
