Klope was the best player on the floor for McCracken County leading the way with 16 points. He has a unique combination of size and speed which makes him a mismatch problem at the high school level. Seemed like he was involved in every aspect of the game which was largely due to his high motor. Overall, loved his finishing ability in to play thru tough/physical plays.
English was a bright spot for Murray High school dropping in 20 points and etching his name in the record books scoring his 1,000th career point. I loved his versatility, especially in the post as he has great footwork to create angles and get tough shots to fall. Playing with great pace and strength, he wore down his defender all night. Lincoln left it all on the court as he capped of a phenomenal high school career.
Zander Curry
Zander Curry
Curry just hit clutch shot after clutch shot for Corbin as they got a tough win vs Knox Central. Curry did a good job playing both on and off ball as he was able to relieve a lot of the ball pressure that Knox Central brought. He is a big time athlete who is very quick which allowed him to get to the rim on drives. He made a tough 3 at the end of the game which put it out of reach. Big time senior performance from him.
Chadwell finished his heralded high school career in typical fashion. His size impacted the game which caused problems for Corbin scoring around the rim. Corbin payers were forced to take off balanced shots in the paint and they hit a few tough ones. Chadwell has such a good feel in the post, especially when he has time and space to make something happen. Probably the best part of his game is grabbing tough rebounds and 50/50 balls. He was a force.
Croney was great vs Desales always looking to attack. He was very shifty with good handle which caused problems for the opposing defense which caused them to go zone. He drew a ton of fouls as he seemed to live at the foul line but what I really liked is his defender could never fall asleep. When he didn’t have the ball he was constantly cutting which if he didn’t get the ball, he opened up driving lanes for others.
Logan Tharp
Logan Tharp
Tharp is a super smooth player with a high IQ. Moved extremely well off the ball, especially when Gibson had it in the post. He was crafty around the rim finishing with either hand. He has a great looking shot and can shoot both off the catch and dribble. He had a nice pull up mid-range going right which looked so smooth. Just a natural basketball player who can be both the guy or a great complimentary piece.
Gibson is a player you can play thru as a coach as he was super effective catching the ball at the top of the key and running the offense. He plays with great pace, never seemed to get sped up and was very methodical in the post to create good angles to operate. He is an underrated driver, especially when able to get to his left hand. The most underrated part of his game is his passing ability. He got teammates open looks all game.
Highlights
I loved Tucker’s performance against Desales. He just seemed to come up with big play after big play whether it was driving the basketball or making a pass to get guys easy shots. He has great feel and vision and although he is looking to score on the drive, he has his eyes on everything else. I really like him as he could be a valuable piece for a college next year.
