Junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1539455' first='DeAndre' last='Lott']-Hancock set the tone early and often for the Avon Orioles. His physicality put Terre Haute South on their heels early on and allowed Avon to build a comfortable advantage. However, it was [player_tooltip player_id='1539998' first='Rashod' last='Bethley'] who really got the scoring going as he connected on a pair of three-point shots in the opening period to put the Orioles on top 30-19. Lott-Hancock then consistently got to his left hand and used his combination of size and strength around the basket to dominate the opposing front court. He had 12 points at the halftime break.

Terre Haute South chipped into the deficit in the third quarter as senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1384405' first='Zayvion' last='Baker'] finally got on the board with a pair of free throws at the 3:16 mark. As he got hot, the Braves cut it to five going into the fourth quarter. However, they would never get over the hump as [player_tooltip player_id='1539997' first='Kendrick' last='Dunmore'] threw down a couple of emphatic dunks and [player_tooltip player_id='1297038' first='Isaac' last='Kramer'] nailed a pair of dagger three-point shots to secure the victory for the Orioles. They advanced to the Sectional 12 championship game with a 61-45 win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1539455' first='DeAndre' last='Lott']-Hancock finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead four Orioles scorers in double figures. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561685' first='Jedidiah' last='Minnett'] added 12 points while [player_tooltip player_id='1539998' first='Rashod' last='Bethley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1539997' first='Kendrick' last='Dunmore'] chipped in 11 points and 10 points respectively. [player_tooltip player_id='1384405' first='Zayvion' last='Baker'] led all scorers with 18 points in the loss for Terre Haute South.

Terre Haute North 61 Brownsburg 53

In the early going it looked like this would be the Bulldogs matchup to lose. [player_tooltip player_id='1293376' first='Grant' last='Porath'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1386051' first='Drew' last='Thompson'] had it working in the opening period while [player_tooltip player_id='1172872' first='Jordan' last='Lomax'] chipped in a couple of buckets as well. Brownsburg led 13-8 after one quarter and 19-18 at the halftime break. The script would completely flip coming out of the locker room though.

Terre Haute North outscored the Bulldogs 21-4 in the third quarter led by three three-point shots by [player_tooltip player_id='1275782' first='Kavish' last='Reddy']. The Patriots were hot from beyond the arc as they pulled away 39-23 going into the fourth. However, it would prove to not be over. Some careless turnovers, unnecessary fouling, and continued aggression from Brownsburg led to the lead dwindling to six with under a minute to play. [player_tooltip player_id='1293376' first='Grant' last='Porath'] had a good look at a three in the air to cut it to three, but it did not fall. Terre Haute North held on to win 61-53 and advance to take on Avon in the Sectional 12 championship game on Saturday night. The Patriots have now won 19 straight games.

Senior wing [player_tooltip player_id='1275782' first='Kavish' last='Reddy'] hit five three-point shots on his way to a game-high 22 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2053676' first='Bryce' last='Renn'] added 10 points in the win for the Patriots. Meanwhile, [player_tooltip player_id='1293376' first='Grant' last='Porath'] finished with 20 points for Brownsburg. [player_tooltip player_id='1172872' first='Jordan' last='Lomax'] scored 10 points and surpassed the 1,000 career point milestone in his final game.
