Have this relentless attitude towards winning. HE JUST LOVE TO WIN ! Don’t let his size fool you either. Have a knack for finishing at the rim amongst taller defenders. Rigdon understands the angles of the game which football helps with. Puts effort on both sides of the ball. I advise anybody to catch, “The Grayson Rigdon Grayson Rigdon 6’0″ | PG Benjamin | 2025 State TX Show” 8:30 am at the Alamodome.
Remember watching Bristow playing AAU seeing a then 6’7 athlete flying through the air. Now year later after his sister captured the illustrious state ring on the girls side for the Holliday athletics program, Keitenn will look to do the same this weekend. Listed at 6’9 the slasher can make life difficult for opponents inside. He can glide in the air with the ball. Good at using wingspan in the passing lane or contesting shots. Excited to see what he does on the biggest stage.
Damion McDaniel
Damion McDaniel
McDaniel makes his third consecutive state appearance. The floor general that can get anywhere on the court. Reigning MVP of the 3A state tournament McDaniel looks to end his career back to back champions. The lateral movement is quicker than most. Player that takes what the defense gives him. A pest on the defensive end as well. Committed to UNLV for football.
KJ Thomas
KJ Thomas
Thomas is an electric scorer that can fill up the stat sheet. Another prospect that made a name of himself at the state tournament last year in the loss to eventual champion Oak Cliff Faith Family. The volume shooter will heat up in an instant. Shifty guard that can pull-up anywhere around the perimeter and inside.
First year on Varsity, Jones help Silsbee attend another state championship appearance. Along side senior guards Jared Harris Jared Harris 6’3″ | SG Silsbee | 2024 State #63 Nation TX and Drelon Miller, this season is preparing him for the driver seat next season. Fills in well with how he handles the ball. Jones been playing against bigger opponents, and trained for stages like the Alamodome. Expect him to make some player for the Tigers.
The champ is back ready to show the maturity he gained. Already one state championship to his name Kingston looks to add more with a bigger role. The floor general have what you look for in the point guard position. Seems like getting by defenders is natural to him. His vision and passing ability makes life easier on his lengthy wings. Super excited to see him perform.
Ahzeil “Jojo” McIver
Ahzeil “Jojo” McIver
McIver have ran the point guard position all three years at Ellison. Now leading his back to another state appearance he looks to finish what he started. Not easily rattled by pressure. Being an athlete runs in his blood coming from his family. McIver likes to set his teammates up for east looks. Hit a tough game winner in the regional final to get Killeen here. Smooth soft release on his jumper. Handle are low and tight using his body to shield defenders.
The man in the middle for Lancaster is an anchor in the paint. Challenges any shot around the rim ensuring people thinking twice when attacking the rim. Such long wingspan that him contesting shots makes life harder for the offense. We can expect rebound highlights with his motor on the boards. You have to box him out or his second leaping ability will help secure the ball
If you were paying attention to our Prephoops circuit then you know how impactful Hall is on the court. The biggest stock riser in Texas played on our Prep Hoops circuit. Amazing footwork in the post. Player that stretches the floor with his ability to play around the perimeter. Already have the body to withstand the physicality load then add in the finesse makes teams decisive on who they put on him. Excited to see him continue helping the steam finish undefeated.
Daniel Williams
Daniel Williams
Last season Williams had minor tweak in my opinion increase Beaumont United chances against Lake Highlands. Williams leaping ability is something to marvel at. With the strength and vertical he possess guarding taller opponents isn’t that big of a challenge to him. Quick with he ball in his hands and explosive when near the rim. This is somebody college coaches should consider.
One of the reasons Stony Point is successful is because of guards like Uzziah. Buntyn can create for himself and others. Great read and react ability making the correct pass. Can knock down shots on the perimeter consistently. Once he see the lanes open doesn’t hesitate to react. His passing ability is underrated
