Following the unveiling of the 2027 All-Event First Team, we now turn our attention to the players who have earned their spot on the 2027 All-Event Second Team.
The Romeoville forward immediately stood out to me as one of the standout prospects. His strength became clear when facing slower defenders, as he excelled in attacking with determination. His dribbling skills allowed him to cover ground, enabling him to drive to the rim effectively from different areas of the court. Additionally, he showcased his IQ as a solid cutter, consistently positioning himself around the rim and displaying a variety of moves to score.
He displayed an ability to highpoint rebounds and capitalize on offensive rebounding opportunities with finesse. What sets him apart is his effort on the court, in every play, showcasing his potential and promising upside as a player.
Highlights
Petar Delic
Petar Delic
Delic, a shooting guard from Willowbrook, shined as a spot-up three-point shooter during the event. He did a fine job in relocating and finding open spaces along the arc for kick-out passes from driving teammates. His shooting prowess was evident in his confident stroke and ability to knock down shots. In addition to his shooting abilities, he showcased glimpses of his ball-handling and driving skills. What impressed more was his grit on the boards, often sneaking in for offensive rebounds and battling for possession
While Delic embraced his role as a deep-threat shooter, his well-rounded game was evident as he displayed a range of skills beyond just shooting.
Chaz Perry
Chaz Perry
Perry, from the Milwaukee area, showcased his competitive spirit and physical prowess throughout the event. His robust build made him a force, as defenders struggled to match his strength and stop his progress when he attacked the rim. Perry fluidly on offense, finding open spaces to spot-up for shots or attack off the dribble.
On the defensive end, Perry’s physicality posed a challenge for driving guards as he used his strength and defensive prowess to overpower them. His ability to impose himself physically on both ends of the court made him a standout competitor during the event.
Johnathan Hadley
Johnathan Hadley
Hadley was the best hustler in the class of 2027 because of his determination and never-give-up attitude on the court. Whether sprinting in transition, playing tight on-ball defense, making solid digs into the post, or being the first one on the floor for loose balls, he consistently went 110%. His motor never seemed to slow down, and he had a remarkable ability to maintain focus regardless of past plays, always looking ahead to the next opportunity.
Hadley demonstrated an attacking mindset, driving to the basket and finishing plays even in the face of contact. However, there’s room for improvement in terms of driving with more control, which could enhance his effectiveness and decision-making.
Andrew High School boasts an intriguing young guard with raw talent. Freeman has a smooth release both from beyond the arc and in the mid-range. He showcases a bit of shake-and-bake in his size-up moves and driving skills, allowing him to create separation and attack the rim effectively. Freeman demonstrated an eye for finding open shooters along the perimeter, displaying unselfishness and smart decision-making. With his combination of shooting, playmaking instincts, and raw talent, this young guard is one to keep an eye on as he continues to develop and shape his skills.
