Toledo Christian has four scorers who can really hurt you with Conye Gaston Conye Gaston 6’1″ | CG Toledo Christian | 2024 OH , Karter Koester Karter Koester 6’2″ | SG Toledo Christian | 2025 State OH , Kalon Butler Kalon Butler 6’1″ | SG Toledo Christian | 2024 State OH and Hesson. Each of them ended Tuesday’s regional semifinal in double figures and impacted the game in a different way. A rare sighting for the Eagles was Hesson making the only two 3-pointers for his team. Hesson is known as a capable shooter when he’s left open and while the rest of the team couldn’t find the mark from downtown, Hesson hit a couple big shots. An efficient player in the paint and a guy who passes the ball well when double teamed. With teammates that can hurt you, Hesson isn’t a player you want to double because he will make the right pass and his teammates will usually knock down the open shot.
The conference player of the year did everything he could to try and keep PG alive. After going down 12 points in the fourth quarter, Harris made some huge plays to make it a competitive game down the stretch. Harris made shots from 3-point range including some tough pull-up 3’s to take the lead in the second quarter. A solid athlete, Harris flew in for a couple strong offensive rebounds in traffic. A wing guard who can do a variety of things on the court to impact the game, Harris has the talent to make an impact at the small college level if he so chooses. Really impressive season by Pandora Gilboa as they won some big games during the regular season and tournament run.
It was an athletic mismatch between Lima Central Catholic and Old Fort as the T-Birds used their size, strength and explosiveness to dominate the interior en route to a 21 point win. Foster fits that description better than anybody on the roster as the Sophomore wing is a highflier. Throwing down alley-oop slams and grabbing rebounds above the rim, few players are as explosive as Foster in Division IV. Tough to stop when he’s attacking downhill, Foster was comfortable finishing at the rim using his left hand. Finally, Foster knocked down a time and space 3-pointer on the wing, doesn’t seem like he shoots a lot of 3-pointers but capable if left alone. This Lima Central Catholic team is tough to stop when they can push the pace and turn you over, it’ll be an interesting clash of styles in the regional title.

I really appreciated the way Old Fort played, looking to push the pace and run pass heavy offensive sets. Ernsberger was active on both ends of the court and was the key behind a third quarter run that brought Old Fort within single digits in the second half. Scoring off cuts and drives, Ernsberger did most of his scoring in the paint. Also active on the boards on both ends, Ernsberger went hard after loose balls. Old Fort got a gritty win over Hopewell Loudon in overtime to win the district and should be proud of the run they went on to make it to the regional stage of the tournament once again.
