Phillips was one of a few key pieces in the Grace Christian Academy rotation who stood out on the NCISAA stage in 2023-24. The 6-foot-5 sophomore produced 16.2 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 1.5 SPG and 1.2 APG on the year while shooting 37 percent from deep on the year. His 97 made 3-pointers for the Eagles ranked eighth in the entire state of North Carolina and 110th nationally, according to MaxPreps. He’s shown a penchant for rebounding the basketball as he also racked up five double-doubles as he continues his development. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on this grassroots season with Boo Williams.
Calvert has begun to separate himself from the rest of the 2026 class in the state of North Carolina as he’s transitioned to the combo guard role. He ranked eighth among NCISAA sophomore on MaxPreps in 3-pointers made (54) while averaging 16.9 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.7 APG and 1.4 SPG on 46 percent shooting from the field and 31 percent shooting from deep. He’s one of a few names to keep an eye on in the Calvary Day School rotation following a season that saw them play a challenging schedule.
Highlights
Coulter is the latest JV turned varsity sensation over at Gaston Day School who showed he’s ready to make a leap this grassroots season. He’s a 5-foot-11 guard prospect who knocked down 89 3-pointers this past season to finish ranked 13th overall in the state of North Carolina. He’s got a knack for knocking down shots from distance and continues to emerge as a distributor and rebounding presence. He put up 14.6 PPG, 2.4 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.6 SPG during his sophomore season.
Whitfield is a name in the 2026 class who continues to prove himself on the PH radar at Victory Christian Center. He averaged 12.0 PPG, 1.8 APG and 1.5 RPG, ranking fifth among sophomores in 3-pointers made (69). More than 50 percent of his looks come from the perimeter. He’s an efficient presence in the backcourt who doesn’t waste time showing what he can do. He put up 10 points, two rebounds and an assist in Victory Christian’s NCISAA 1A Title Game victory this season and was also a member of the NCISAA 1A All-State team. He’s a 6-foot-2 guard for college programs to keep on their radar.
Clifton remains a consistent force in the New Garden Friends School backcourt and a new name on the PH radar to get to know. He’s a 5-foot-10 combo guard who produced 9.9 PPG, 2.6 APG, 2.6 SPG and 2.0 RPG as the Bears took home the Mid-Carolina regular season conference crown at 10-1 in the standings. He knocked down 59 3-pointers and ranked 13th in the conference in scoring this season, according to MaxPreps. He’s a young guard prospect to track in the 2026 class given his skillset.
Dunkins is another versatile guard prospect in the NCISAA out of Cape Fear Christian Academy worth getting to know. He produced 8.8 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 1.2 SPG and 1.1 APG while seeing an increase in his role in the Eagles backcourt. He shot 47 percent from the field and 37 percent from deep while showing off his ability to operate in a variety of ways . He’s a prospect to get to know in the sophomore class.
Banks is quietly climbing up the PH radar in the NCISAA with Hickory Grove Christian. He led all sophomores in scoring this past season with 22.1 PPG, according to MaxPreps. He’s a shifty guard prospect who’s hard to stay in front of as evidenced by his efficiency. He shot 41 percent from the field as a sophomore while making a total of 119 field goals on the season. He also put up 6.0 RPG, 1.7 SPG and 1.5 APG so scoring isn’t all that he can do. He’s a young name to keep track of this grassroots season.
