Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Banks is an emerging prospect in the 2026 class to know headed to Carolina International School on the NCHSAA stage. The Comets finished this past season 19-9 before falling in the second round of the state playoffs. Banks will hope to inject his skills at the guard position after posting 22.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.5 assists per game at Hickory Grove Christian in 2023-24. With a change of scenery and some talented names around him, look for his recruitment to grow as a DII/DIII prospect at the very least.

Banks is another new addition to the latest rankings update in the 2026 class out of Hickory Grove Christian. He poured in 22.1 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 1.7 SPG and 1.5 APG on 41 percent shooting from the floor as a top sophomore name to know on MaxPreps. At 5-foot- 10, he’s a lead guard who does well to push the envelope off the bounce, get paint touches and make things happen with the ball in his hands. He’s a guard presence to get to know in the state of North Carolina.

Banks is quietly climbing up the PH radar in the NCISAA with Hickory Grove Christian. He led all sophomores in scoring this past season with 22.1 PPG, according to MaxPreps. He’s a shifty guard prospect who’s hard to stay in front of as evidenced by his efficiency. He shot 41 percent from the field as a sophomore while making a total of 119 field goals on the season. He also put up 6.0 RPG, 1.7 SPG and 1.5 APG so scoring isn’t all that he can do. He’s a young name to keep track of this grassroots season.

Banks has continued to get better and better over the course of his three years on varsity, as he’s now averaging 23.3 PPG and 6.3 RPG. He’s a volume scorer who gets them up in bunches and is trusted to do so, taking plenty of shots with a high degree of difficulty. However, when the ball is in his hands he’s not doing anything crazy, just looking to make the right play for his group. Normally, this means he’s the one taking the shot. Keep an eye out for him on the grassroots scene this spring.
