In the first game No. 2 seed De Smet defeated No. 3 seed Hazelwood East. In the second game No. 1 see Ladue defeated No. 4 seed Westminster in a close game. Two competitive games.
Here’s a look at Saturday standouts from those semifinal games.
Dillon Duff (De Smet): The only Duff brother playing, Dillon made sure his team wouldn’t be sent home in this convincing win. Each passing game provides more time for his brother Owen to return from injury. Dillon scored 18 points and did so through strong attacks to the rim and catch & shoot threes. The Kansas State QB commit has added a lot of size to his frame and looks like a Big 12 football player. A well built 6’3 guard who can carry the scoring load.
Will Foulk Will Foulk 5'11" | PG DeSmet Jesuit | 2027 State MO (De Smet): The freshman showed a lot of promise especially during the 2nd and 3rd quarters. He was out and running in transition making deep jumpers and even hitting an and-one from distance. The 5’11 guard is confident and not afraid of the moment. He’s one of the best in this class so far and has been a reliable bench spark.
Ian Thomas Ian Thomas 6'3" | SG DeSmet | 2026 State MO (De Smet): Thomas scored 11 points and did a majority of his work heading towards the rim and earning trips to the FT line. The smooth lefty is a powerful finisher and can use both hands. He was also key on defensive and in the rebounding department. He made a big impact.
Jaylen Vance (Hazelwood East): Vance was a player who really stood out for East. He has the ball on a string and made a couple tough baskets when his team needed points. A junior who will be a building block for the future. This team showed a lot of promise and he was a main reason why.
Will Powers Will Powers 6'2" | SG Westminster | 2027 State MO (Westminster): Powers is a smooth scoring guard that didn’t have trouble with the Ladue pressure. He looked like an upperclassman with his poise and ability to manufacture open shots. He had it going from three and in the mid-range, especially from the corners. A 2027 that has a chance to be a great player over the next few seasons.
Asher Amanuel (Westminster): Amanuel played well in his final game. The 6’0 PG is as poised as they come and did a really good job of keeping his team in order during the first half of play. His assists and a big three pointer at the top of the key were among many of his top moments. He scored in double figures and competed throughout. A fundamentally sound guard who plays off two feet in the paint.
Dwayne Foley (Ladue): Ladue asks Foley to do so much and he delivers. A dominant defensive player at 6’3, he moved around matchup wise and was able to shut down numerous players. Very good in transition. His athleticism allows for spectacular baskets at the cup. The senior had 14 points on the night. He’s a star for this team and plays his role very well.
