2023-24 State Tournament: Day 2 Underclassmen Report

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The underclassmen talents were all over the state tournament on Thursday.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126128' first='Isaiah' last='Asuma'] of Cherry (6'0 guard, 2027).&nbsp; Isaiah had a fantastic game against RTR today.&nbsp; I've been able to see Cherry several times this year and Isaiah has really become a reliable defender.&nbsp; He's a quality shooter but now he's become excellent at this level in transition too.&nbsp; Scored his 26 points on 11 of 13 shooting.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560740' first='Dothan' last='Ijadimbola'] of Totino-Grace (6'6 forward, 2026).&nbsp; Dothan had a big second half going at the rim scoring with the short jumper, the euro step, and the power move.&nbsp; And then did all of them again.&nbsp; Gave [player_tooltip player_id='1284143' first='Isaiah' last='Johnson'] another scoring option to go to to take pressure off the senior and Dothan came through with 14 points and six boards.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'] of Wayzata (6'4 guard, 2026). Wiggins had some big early jumpers go down but for me everything was about his defensive efforts on Joe Mitchell (along with teammates).&nbsp; I thought Wiggins was excellent on defense and it was another example of how quickly he has grown as a player.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Others</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1601068' first='Noah' last='Asuma'] of Cherry (6'2 shooting guard, 2026).&nbsp; Made three shots, grabbed five boards, had a couple assists</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1560835' first='Tian' last='Chatman'] of Totino-Grace (6'4 combo guard, 2026). Scored once, had four boards and three assists.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2382347' first='Lucas' last=''] Gustafson of Mankato East (5'11 pg, 2026).&nbsp; Came off the bench to hit a three, two foul shots, grab three boards and dish out three assists in the absence of [player_tooltip player_id='1437303' first='Brogan' last='Madson'].&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1548694' first='Keishion' last='Jarmon'] of Cretin-Derham Hall (6'0 sg, 2026).&nbsp; Came off the bench to hit two early threes getting the Raiders within two scores around the middle of the first half.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even Miller of DeLaSalle (6'4 forward, 2026).&nbsp; Had an assist off the bench.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2126117' first='Malachi' last='Hill'] of Totino-Grace (5'10 point guard, 2027).
