I was impressed with Jacobson’s game as he did a little bit of everything. He snagged several surprising rebounds mixing it up in the interior. He also flashed a surprisingly strong handle both against pressure and on drives.
Parker is a developing player who’s best years are in front of him. The big man played his role for Elko, protecting the rim, and defending on the interior. He is a long and fluid athlete, with a lot of potential and an evolving game.
If you love winning basketball, then you’re going to want to have Ruffin on your team. He did a little bit of everything for his squad. He defended every position on the floor, and had a knack for coming up with what seemed like 30/70 type rebounds. It’s fair to say he was the ultimate connector for his team, helping Sierra Vista take home the 4A crown.
Dodson is a young player that was extremely impressive. He spent the week hitting several huge shots for his team. The sophomore was a sniper in catch and shoot situations, and contributed a ton of energy and effort for the Mustangs who made a run to the 4A title game.
Robinson was a defensive weapon for Mater East. The guard contributed to the 3A runner ups by hounding perimeter ballhandlers with his pressure defense. In a pinch, he was used as an additional facilitator and ballhandler for the Knights
Edwards was used in a varitety of ways for the Huskies. He has good size, and moves well. The forward was effective battling on the interior, keeping opponents from grabbing inside position, he showed a willingness to pass the ball as well. His best skill without a doubt was his tenacity when competing for tough rebounds.
