-Curtin was easily the most impactful scorer that I’ve seen this week and possibly this season, scoring 29+ in both playoff games despite not only seeing the opposition’s top defender, but a slew of double teams coming from different positions and different spots on the floor. He can get into his shot going either direction, and with range–the latter which makes him immensely valuable at the next level. He plays with a moxie at both ends of the floor and is an incredibly-physical basketball player that seeks out the contact at either end whether he is on the road or playing in front of a home crowd. Hitting shots not only from outside the arc but also within it off of reverse pivots and ball fakes–Curtin’s bag is among the deepest in the area.
Marques Paschall
Marques Paschall
16p 3r 1a vs Edmondson
-Paschall quietly has one of the most solid all-around games for a guard in the 2025 class in the DMV. He can shoot, handle the ball, be effective on or off the ball, defends at a high level, and gets to a ton of loose balls while doing the dirty work for this City College team. Served as a high-level shot-maker in the Baltimore City Championship for City in a narrow loss
Tremain Rowles
Tremain Rowles
16p 5r 1s 1b vs Gwynn Park
-Surprised that Rowles was UR on our site because he served as an effective shooter and driver in the PG County Championship game for the Bowie Bulldogs, flashing some perimeter wiggle to free himself up for open shots. His ability to function on or off the ball allowed him the opportunity to lull his matchup to sleep before making a sudden drive to the rack or cut to open space for a 3. Interested in seeing how he is utilized next season alongside Kamali Burns with the graduation of several guards from the roster.
10p 7r 3s 2a
-Gillus has consistently performed as one of the top utility players in the DMV, filling whatever gap Sidwell finds itself having that day defensively, on the glass or as a shooter– Gillus filled all 3 for the Quakers in their 3rd straight MAC Championship. He gets to a ton of loose balls but has the athleticism and timing to out-jump taller opponents for key rebounds that extend possessions for Sidwell. His willingness to do the dirty work is invaluable to what Coach Singletary wants his team to do at both ends of the floor. Maret left him wide open on his first 4 attempts and he capitalized to force the Frogs to change their defense strategy.
10p 3r 1a vs SSSA
-One of the most under-appreciated prospects in the area, I think McDonough could out-shoot several more highly-touted prospects in the area and proved that in an IAC semifinal win over SSSA. A dynamic C+S threat that forces long closeouts from the defense, McDonough has tightened his handle to allow him to hit more shots off the dribble with range. A strong, tenacious driver on the ball, McDonough uses his center of gravity to get past his matchup and into the teeth of the defense
