(Note: this is not at all a definitive list, just part of an ongoing series to highlight some New York natives who are deserving of being recruited)
The New York native is one of the best shooters in the state in the class of 2025 and that has been on display all season at Westtown. The 6-foot-4 guard has been a consistent offensive threat while also showing some ability as a playmaker. Look for him to continue to build on a strong junior season during the Spring.
Kaelin Destin

As a younger member of the class of 2025, there’s a real chance that ultimately Destin does take advantage of an extra year. That being said, the 6-foot-2 shooter already has begun to see his recruitment pick up and continues to grow as a player since joining Cardinal Hayes. He can really shoot it and can play either guard position.
A big slashing guard with good length at 6-foot-6, Dorreliand has the tools to be a high level player. Playing with a very talented Eagle Academy team, Dorreliand has the luxury of being able to pick his spots and attack the defense when it’s already moving or out of position. He has shown flashes of being a threat from beyond the arc throughout the season. With Eagle’s season resuming next week, it will be interesting to see how he closes out the post season and can build some buzz heading into AAU season.
Haisi Mayben

The son of former 5 star recruit Tiki Mayben, Haisi has been a highly regarded name in the Albany area for over a year now. That reputation will likely end up continuing to spread this AAU season. A 6-foot-1 guard is as good of a passer as he is a shooter, and can get after it on the defensive end when he’s locked in.
After going for 42 earlier this month, Timberlake has more than put himself on the radar as a stock riser this winter. The 6-foot-1 scorer can get a basket off the dribble or running off of screens and shooting. He does it within the offense, often setting his teammates up for easy scores once the defense starts to send more attention his way.

The Scarsdale swingman is one of the best shooters in the state and can get hot from beyond the arc quickly. He is also a very good rebounder for a guard and has been a constant double-double threat this season. High academic programs looking for a shooter with toughness would be wise to make a point to see him sooner rather than later.
