The stage is set for this year's NCISAA 2A State Finals as Greenfield School and Davidson Day School square off. Greenfield comes into this year's matchup with strong guard play behind [player_tooltip player_id='1277989' first='Matt' last='Kirby'], [player_tooltip player_id='1602914' first='Tyler' last='Barnes'] and 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1280933' first='Kobe' last='Edwards']. Edwards is coming off a career-high 28 points against their rival Wayne Country Day in the semifinals. The Knights come into the game on a 12-game winning streak as they look to win yet another state title under head coach Rob Salter.

They've got a strong cast of guards with Edwards and Kirby leading the charge. Kirby is their initiator and playmaker given his strength and speed with the ball in his hands. He posted 23 points and eight rebounds in their semifinal victory. And don't forget about [player_tooltip player_id='1330894' first='Gabe' last='Marquis'], who can get hot in a hurry as well from deep and cutting to the basket. He put up 14 points in the semis. They'll have their hands full in dealing with Davidson Day in the frontcourt, but their scrappy guards and wings should keep them in it throughout.

Davidson Day comes into the NCISAA 2A Finals on a six-game winning streak of their own following an 8-0 season in Foothills Conference action. 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1990411' first='Isaiah' last='Denis'], Mercer commit [player_tooltip player_id='2043210' first='Mason' last='Smith'] and senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2238223' first='Brady' last='Kester'] have been the difference-makers for the Patriots in leading them to the title game. Denis and Smith have been a terror to defend against on the perimeter given their ability to shoot from deep. Kester has a ton of versatility on the wing given his size at 6-foot-8 and has shown he can defend a multitude of positions in anchoring the defense. 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2055540' first='Will' last='Stevens'] is another prospect to keep an eye on in their frontcourt as well. He's shown flashes of his potential as a rim-protector and finisher in the painted area.

Their length and ability to defend should make for a gritty meeting against Greenfield. Look for an exciting, strategic matchup between two well-coached groups on Saturday when things tipoff at 7 PM.
