A player we saw on the Prep Hoops Circuit with his Nova Village squad, Germany has taken a pretty big step since the last time I saw him play in the summer. A more confident shooter from the outside, Bishop Ready runs a pretty offense and executed their sets at a high level. Germany was the guy running off screens and getting open to let it fly from long distance. I was also impressed with Germany’s hands, making some tough catches in traffic to put him in position to make easy shots. When you run an offense that relies on passing and off-ball movement, having players that go to the ball in traffic can make all the difference.
Really my first time taking notice of Gordon’s talents, I left impressed with the Junior guard. I thought he made quick decisions with the ball in his hands, getting it to the open teammate on time and accurately. A quick athlete, Gordon is light on his feet defensively to stay in front of ball handlers and offensive to change pace and direction off the dribble. A capable perimeter shooter as well, Gordon hit a contested fallaway mid-range shot as well. A prospect to watch over this summer, Gordon will have plenty of opportunities to prove himself during the grassroots season and with Bishop Ready.
One of the more intriguing available seniors in Ohio, Temming stands 6’10 and leads the GCL-Co Ed in rebounds and blocks. I thought his body looked a little better as Temming has added some muscle to his frame, allowing him to take more contact through his chest. He moves well for a prospect his size in a straight line, allowing him to beat players down the court for layups and recover to block shots from behind. As a passer, Temming usually makes the right read when the double team comes. Still progressing with physicality and as a scorer, Temming did make a top of the key 18 footer early that showed a little shooting potential. He’s shooting 69% from the free throw line this season. It might take another couple years for Temming to reach his ceiling, but this is a prospect who could really benefit from a redshirt season or going to a JUCO/Post grad to continue development.
Highlights
I really enjoyed watching McNick compete on both ends of the floor on Saturday afternoon, moving the ball offensively and taking a handful of charges on the defensive end of the floor. Ehlers is their senior leader who is third in the conference in scoring. Another productive outing for him with 20 points and 9 rebounds, Ehlers made his presence felt. A guy you don’t have to run plays for him to score, Ehlers moves without the ball and takes his shots within the flow of the offense. His best take to the rim was when he attacked a closeout and finished with the left hand. Going 3-4 from 3-point range helped his efficiency too, even if one of the make’s was a bank shot that was unintentional. This team won’t be an easy out in the playoffs and Ehlers could help a small college program with his toughness, motor and production.
I just watched Ottawa Glandorf last Saturday and they took a tough loss on their home court. This Saturday they went on the road and handed Lexington just their second loss of the season. White was instrumental in the performance with a handful of strong drives to the rim where he scored through the chest of the Lexington rim protectors. Lexington didn’t force White to his left hand and he continued to attack on the right side of the rim with two foot finishes that showed his balance and ability to score through contact. Also knocking down some tough 8-15 foot shots, White’s touch was on full display when he got the friendly roll a few times on these mid-range pull-ups. Continuing to improve as an athlete, White had a couple breakaway dunks including a left-handed dunk jumping off his right foot, something that is very hard for a right-handed player to do. White finished with a game-high 26 points and had some key buckets late to help the Titans get a signature win headed into the playoffs.
One of the elite shooters in northwest Ohio, Erford has a quick release and gets his feet set running off screens. A wing who can score off a variety of off-ball actions, Ottawa Glandorf used baseline screens, elevator screens and simple drive and kicks. A player who has been in a lot of big games with the Titans, Erford is capable of helping a small college program with his ability to shoot at his size. If Ottawa Glandorf is going to make it back to Dayton, they’ll need Erford to continue to make shots from the perimeter.
Lexington has been one of the top Division II teams in the state with their strong 2026 class led by Allen and Brayden Fogle Brayden Fogle 6’5″ | SF Lexington | 2026 State OH . The point guard Allen made some big shots on Saturday night, punishing the Ottawa Glandorf zone defense for leaving him open. A quick guard who could change speeds off the dribble and get inside the lane, Allen drew fouls with his ability to drive off the bounce and get into the teeth of the defense. Unfortunately, a game changing play happened when Allen was called for a technical foul after a jump ball, that was a big swing in momentum for the Titans. Despite the loss, Lexington still has a chance to win a district title and they’ll be a team to watch for the future with all their young talent.
