I really enjoyed watching McNick compete on both ends of the floor on Saturday afternoon, moving the ball offensively and taking a handful of charges on the defensive end of the floor. Ehlers is their senior leader who is third in the conference in scoring. Another productive outing for him with 20 points and 9 rebounds, Ehlers made his presence felt. A guy you don’t have to run plays for him to score, Ehlers moves without the ball and takes his shots within the flow of the offense. His best take to the rim was when he attacked a closeout and finished with the left hand. Going 3-4 from 3-point range helped his efficiency too, even if one of the make’s was a bank shot that was unintentional. This team won’t be an easy out in the playoffs and Ehlers could help a small college program with his toughness, motor and production.

The leading scorer for McNicholas as a Junior, Ehlers was just a shade under 12 PPG last winter. An impressive spot-up shooter in the corner, Ehlers connected on 25 3-pointers last season and is more consistent during the grassroots season with Shining Star Price next to other talented teammates. Ehlers had flashes with eight games of 15+ points last season, expect that number to be over half of McNicholas’ games for Ehlers as a senior.

Playing on a Shining Star Price squad mostly led by Kentucky prospects, Ehlers stood out as a wing shooter who just knew how to play. His off-ball movement got him open with the impressive ball movement his team showed and he wasn’t shy about letting it fly off the catch. After finishing top five in the GCL Co Ed in scoring as a Junior, I expect Ehlers to have an even bigger senior season for McNicholas. A wing shooting prospect for small college programs to check out.
