Even in a loss to Paw Paw. Estelle was a big part of a competitive defensive slugfest. Often times people mistake bad offense for good defense. That was NOT the case in Paw Paw. Estelle walled up nicely and played even bigger than his height defensively. He always looked for a body to box out and was bouncy, active and effective on the defensive glass. Estelle ran the floor fast, always looking for an open court opportunity, and when he got one he finished it off with a bucket. He showed the ability to see the floor and pass out of the mid range.
Highlights
Brennan was nothing shy of terrific in the Paw Paw win against Hopkins. Even in a defensive dominated game, he really couldn’t be slowed down. Let’s start with his D. He showed quick hands to match his quick feet on that. Really saw the ball. Brennan showed the ability to be a high level passer. He hit teammates on the move in the open floor and was able to drive and dish as well. Brennan was able to connect on a catch and shoot and got open with his off the ball movement. He also used a stutter step and finish off 2 feet to score.
Clarkston defeated Rochester 60-39 and Flavin was absolutely outstanding in the game. Next level coaches need to see him play ASAP. Favin showed a knack for finding space under the rim and making himself pass ready. He had really good hands. He was strong on every catch whether a feed at the waist of over the top of the defense. Flavin was really good with his back to the basket and scoring over his left shoulder. He was good on the glass as well, picking up multiple put back buckets.
Muhl definitely turned heads with his performance in the game against Clarkston. He’s just a sophomore, but the guard has a very mature game. He’s dependable with the ball and makes good basketball decisions when it’s in his hands. Muhl can flat out shoot the ball. He almost always catches in rhythm and is balanced with his feet. Muhl is a stone cold shooter, the kind where it looks like every one is going in. He buried at least 3 catch and shoot triples that I took note of.
