After watching Wayzata we wanted to share one thing about five players from each team from Thursday's game.

Wayzata

[player_tooltip player_id='1560807' first='Isaac' last='Olmstead'] (soph). Talent is there for Olmstead to handle for a potential state title team. Liked the way he moved the ball in transition best (six assists). Thought he picked his attempts pretty well for the most part.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560867' first='Christian' last='Wiggins'] (soph). Did not have a good shooting day but had a three basket second half shooting run that was important. I was most impressed with how Wiggins moved his feet and kept length on Moore and Smith defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2296650' first='Brayden' last='Sandmann'] (sr). Latest Wayzata player to come up from the JV and make a varsity impact as a senior. His defense, four assists and four boards combined with the hard working effort kept him on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1454976' first='Wyatt' last='McBeth'] (jr). McBeth has a chance to really blossom as a player and prospect in the next 12 months. About 6'6, long, skilled, and moves well, as he continues to physically mature I think he is going to take massive steps forward. Had 14 points on seven shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1287438' first='Jackson' last='McAndrew'] (sr). Had some shooting droughts in the game but he scored 27 with nine boards and once again with the game on the line against a top team, McAndrew used the Schnettler set to catch and hit a game winner with 30 seconds to go and then went and made sure it was a game winner by swatting a [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] lay-up.

Hopkins

Tre Moore (8th). As an 8th grader Ken Novak Jr had him on the floor in crunch time and he was wining defensive angles and taking shots confidently. Says a lot that he was out there down the stretch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] (soph). This was not a great game for Jayden but that is not my point here. I just love his toughness and his direction of the team. Throw in that explosive speed and you have a player that I like in the top 100 nationally simply because he brings a different level of fight, even on a day that was not his best.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574212' first='Anthony' last='Smith'] (jr). When Smith gets to his attempts deeper in the clock off of ball movement he is so tough to guard. That pull-up, or the quick catch and shoot with feet set are deadly when the defense is in chase. When those shots are taken versus positioned defenders I don't like them much but LOVE what he does against a scrambling defense because when he's in comfort he's deadly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595734' first='JJ' last='Semanko'] (jr). Semanko just went at [player_tooltip player_id='1287438' first='Jackson' last='McAndrew'] and came up one make, one block and a couple boards short despite taking several less shots. He blocked McAndrew shots, McAndrew forced McAndrew into misses, and he scored on the future Creighton player. Semanko isn't just catch and shoot, he will come at you when the feel in the offense is right. A 24 point, seven board performance that spoke volumes.

Julius Ellis (soph). Did not play much but did some good things scoring twice and grabbing some boards. He is also a sophomore. Hopkins has three seniors total and only one plays an that one senior is the 8th man and does not get used much.
