Continuing with some recaps of the holiday tournaments, we're checking out some of the top performers from the Hardwood Invite. Hoopsource hosted the tournament over five days at Parkrose High School in Portland, Oregon, and brought teams from across the country in what has been one of the top tournaments in the PNW over the last three years. Let's take a look at some of the top frontcourt players from the invite.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685505' first='Malakai' last='Weimer'] | 2026 | Skyview (WA) | 13.8 pts 7.5 reb 2.5 stl

Weimer was a force all tournament and started off with a tremendous game against Rancho Solano where he tallied 12 points 16 rebounds 6 assists and 3 steals. At 6-foot-4, he's one of the shortest forwards to make this list but his fight went unmatched and was a big reason he finished the invite fourth in total rebounds. His energy and ability to get to the hoop helped his team rally in several games and he was a menace defensively, finishing the tourney tied for third in steals. Weimer was also highly efficient while taking a majority of his shots under duress, shooting 20-27 from the field and 3-5 from 3PT.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863196' first='Ethan' last='Harris'] | 2026 | Camas (WA) | 13 pts 8 reb 2.3 stl 1.3 blk

The Camas forward drew a lot of attention after opening the invite with a big 24-point 10-rebound performance, and he continued to be a force on both ends for the rest of the tournament. He's a long kid who brings some versatility offensively as he showed against Parkrose when he went 4-4 from 3PT. But he's also a guy who shows good defensive anticipation and recorded 2+ steals in each game, plus two games with five stocks (steals+blocks).

[player_tooltip player_id='1318394' first='Kevin' last='Sylla'] | 2024 | Smoky Hill (CO) | 14 pts 6.8 reb

Sylla was a physical force down low and while Smoky Hill had some talented guards and perimeter players, when they got in trouble it seemed to be Sylla who steadied the ship with a big bucket or stop inside. He recorded a block in three of their four games and shot a ridiculous 71.4% from 2PT (20-28). At 6-foot-8, he was a tough matchup but he also had that dog mentality and showed enough skill to fight, but not foul. He was key to helping Smoky Hill to a third-place finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1450157' first='Gylan' last='Payne'] | 2025 | Oregon City (OR) | 16.8 pts 8 reb 3 ast 2 blk 1.5 stl

One of the more versatile players at the invite, Payne put up numbers across the board. He was in the top ten at the tournament for minutes played (1st), scoring (t-9th), rebounding (t-2nd), assists (t-5th), blocks (1st), and offensive rebounds (t-1st). Payne brought flow and efficiency to the offensive end and playmaking to the defensive side. While shooting 71.4% from 2PT, he also racked up 3+ stocks and 2+ offensive boards in every game. He had some definite "wow" to his game and left a big impression at the invite.

[player_tooltip player_id='1688028' first='Finnegan' last='Anderson'] | 2024 | Davis (WA) | 12.8 pts 3 reb 2 ast 1 stl

The Davis wing came up big in their final game against fellow 4A school Camas, sinking 10-15 FG (2-4 3PT) for 25 points. He was all over the place offensively and his work rate to get into positions to score helped the Pirates get out to an early lead. He's got good size on the wings and is able to score from all levels which has helped distinguish him as that secondary scorer for Davis this year. He doesn't turn the ball over (4 TOs all tourney) and makes the most of his touches (60% 2FG, 2.0 apg).

[player_tooltip player_id='1450484' first='Jacob' last='Cofie'] | 2024 | Eastside Catholic (WA) | 16.8 pts 5.5 reb 2 ast 1 stl 1 blk

Cofie is an awesome talent in the frontcourt but looked to be hampered by a bum ankle/foot during the tournament. Even so, he put up two monster games in the Crusader's first and last games of the tournament. Against Tigard, Cofie totaled 29 points 10 rebounds 2 steals and 2 blocks while shooting 14-19 FG. Then, in the championship against Roosevelt he put up 26 points 7 rebounds 5 assists and 2 blocks while shooting 11-15 FG (2-4 3PT).

He's a versatile offensive threat who can burn guys in the post with strength or finesse, but also has the ability to create off the dribble from the high post and perimeter, and showed that playmaking potential in the championship game. Overall, he shot 29-35 from inside the arc.

[player_tooltip player_id='2205003' first='Milan' last='Skoro'] | 2024 | La Salle (OR) | 13.5 pts 6.5 reb

The 6-foot-5 forward paced his team in scoring and rebounding, using his length to battle inside and showing some pretty good athleticism to challenge shots. Skoro was a big presence on the offensive glass too, totaling three or more o-boards in three of four games and snagged five of them in a standout game against Parkrose. He grabbed nine overall in that game while also putting up 22 points 2 assists 2 steals and 1 block. He shot 20-33 from 2PT (60.6%) and was one of the more active forwards at the invite.

[player_tooltip player_id='1496237' first='Ty' last='Dahlin'] | 2024 | South Medford (OR) | 14.3 pts 8.8 reb 1 stl

Dahlin led the tournament in rebounding at 8.8 per game while being one of the most consistent frontcourt players, tallying 11+ points and 7+ rebounds in every game they played. He was also highly efficient from the field, shooting 65.5% from 2PT (21-32). He's a long kid who's got some quick spring and was competing in every aspect of the game, notching points, rebounds, assists, and steals in every game they played.
